Callie jumped up from bed and ran to her closet. She grabbed a light blue t-shirt and tan jean shorts. She got dressed and put on her lime green converse and ran downstairs. What Callie didn't know is that something was going to happen to her beloved seventeen year old brother. She grabbed the mail, like she does every morning. She skims through every letter and ones catches her eye. It is addressed to her brother for an all boys army academy because need more new soldiers in the army.
She couldn't let her brother leave. Her brother had gotten in a accident last year and is not fit for the amry but, she knows her brother would still go to the academy because he would want to do it so he brings the family honor. She then came up with a brilliant plan.
Late That Night...
Callie took her long hair and bundled it up at the top of her head. Then, she took a pair of scissors and cut the bun off of her head. That left her with a short pixie cut. Her blue eyes filled with tears at the thought of leavin her home, her family, her life as she knows it but, she kept going and cut her hair so it looked even and packed some clothes in one of her brother's old duffle bags. She then dressed in some of her brother's old clothes. She took a photo of herself and placed it on her parents nightstand along with the letter. Then, she walked out of the house and walked to the waiting spot for the army academy boys. She curled up on one of the small cots they had at the waiting place and fell asleep.
The Next Morning...
Callie woke up and looked around, remembering what happened the night before and realizing it was not just a dream. The army academy soldiers were not up yet and she waited patiently since she was already dressed. The army boys already woke up and got ready and they all went on the bus. The general called out names and finally reached Callie's brother's name and she raised her hand. Then, the bus went to the army grounds and she fell asleep wondering what was happening back home.
