The Third

I looked off the edge to the road below me. Head light passed every now and then, but I didn't notice it too much. I was to busy pondering my life and how it ended up here. Ready to end what ever this mess was. I looked up at the sky and said my last prayers.

Lord, please, help my family and friends move on like I know they will. Especially my husband, please, take care of him. Amen.

I looked back down.

"EREN!"

My head whipped around to respond to the recognition of my name.

"What-what are you doing?!"

My eyes became blurry with tears, it made it hard to get a clear picture of my husband.

"I-I'm sorry Levi, but there's no place for me in this world anymore."

"What do you mean Eren. Y-you have me. What about your best friend Armin or your sister Mikasa."

"N-no, I. I just can't anymore. I. I can't survive like this."

"Ok," He took a long deep breath, obviously scared himself. "Eren, breath, think about what you're doing."

"B-but-" I breathed.

"That's it, just calm down."

I noticed that Levi had started to walk closer to me as he was saying all of this. I wondered, why I was here in the first place and why I even decided to live anyway.

"Can you walk towards me?"

I did so, not currently really being able to understand my own situation anymore. When I finally did reach him, more tears welled up and ran down my face.

"Ssshhh. It's ok, you're safe now."

I leaned on him, crying into his shoulder. He patted my head with compassion and led me back to the car. We got back in and the ride home was silent. Neither of us had anything to say. It was a comfortable silence. Before I knew it, we were getting out of the car and entering the house, going about our nightly routine and ending up in the same bed ready to sleep.

"You know Eren, I'm glad you're still here. I don't know what I would do with out you."
With that Levi curled up to my chest and slept.
