Maya and her parents sat and stared at the doctor. "Cancer? What do you mean by cancer?" Maya asked her mom.
"Well Maya, its going to be rough but you seem to be going strong. The tumor is there and as you can see in the pictures we took the tumor has inflamed this part of your brain....." The doctor was talking but Maya sat there and spaced off. Maya never expected to have cancer. She thought that the headaches and bleeds were just because she was low on Iron or something.
"How long?" Maya asked
"What?" Maya's mom Eliza asked
"How long, if I don't do treatment? How long?" Maya asked again
"About a month. Longer if you take the treatment. Ultimately the choice is yours Maya." The doctor said "Remember this though Maya you are young and the treatment has a high chance of working."
"And if it doesn't work?" Eliza asked
"Surgery is the next option. We can remove the tumor but Maya will still have to do treatment. Again it is your choice." The doctor replied

A FEW MONTHS LATER Maya sat in a hospital bed in the ER. She was feeling very ill and a few nose bleeds occurred. Maya hadnt been taken to the hospital for a couple of weeks. Her strength was growing strong everyday just like her faith was. Maya's strength came from a band. One known as The Wanted and their fans known as TWFanmily.
"How you feeling sweetheart?" The nurse asked coming in to check on Maya and a few other patients.
"Would be better if I could go home." Maya replied with a smile
"You know Maya, no matter how much pain you are in you are always smiling. Its nice to see." The nurse said "The doctor though has said that you need to stay here for a couple of days, just so we can monitor you."
"Alright. My mum and dad know right?" Maya asked
"Yes they do, and a room will be ready for you in a while." The nurse said with a smile as she turned to leave. Maya was once again alone. She was on twitter just scoping things out. TWFanmily knew about Maya and her cancer. It took her a few weeks to actually tell people but once she accepted the fact that she had cancer and was willing to share the information with others. As Maya was scanning her phone she noticed new followers.

"Sweetie what is it?"
