Just as I put my phone down the doorbell goes off, signalling that Hailey's here. "I'll get it!" As I open the door, a sly-looking Hailey comes in. She has that evil smirk on her face which tells me i'm in deep trouble.

Sighing, I gesture for her to follow me and we head up to my room. She plops onto my bed and says "Ok now tell me what's on your mind." So I do, well mostly I just show her our texts and explain the story behind it all.

"AWWWWWWWW, I SHIP IT SO HARD!" she shouts at the top of her lungs. I desperately shush her in case my mom was to pay a surprise visit to my room. We burst out laughing and lay on my bed until she asks "So what's so bad about it all?"

"I don't know Hails, but it seems like this is all going so quickly. I didn't expect us to actually be friendly in just a matter of days!" Sighing, she dramatically plops down as if we were royal or something.

"That's the magic of it all, hun. We can find even the best of friends in even the total of strangers. Do you remember how we met at the ice cream parlour when were 6? And then came there every day afterwards just to see and talk to each other again for a week before deciding we were going to be best friends for life? Well, look at us 11 years later."

I smile, remembering how much simpler the world was and how easy it was to tell everyone everything. That same naiveness led me to Hailey, and I wouldn't have it any other way. "Yeah, I guess your right. Damn, where would we be if we listened to our parents and not talked to strangers?"

"Two very lonely people, that's who." We laugh some more and crack more jokes before Hailey becomes all serious and motherly again. "But seriously Ever, talk to and trust this guy all you want, but just be safe while doing it. Have you heard of all those murders and exploitations going on with this sort of stuff?"

She was completely right. How stupid was I to have sent a picture of myself to Jack. God knows if he posted it all over the internet by now."UGGGHHHH, Why can't the world just be nice and humane?"

"Ever, If I knew the answer to that don't you think that world peace would be a thing by now?"

"Ok, so from now on I'll be more secretive about myself, let him do the talking more, right?" I ask Hailey. She nods and grabs my phone, reading the texts again I suppose. "So what's with the whole band and singer thing he was talking about?"

"Right, apparently he's a singer in a band called Why Don't We. They've blown up a lot in the past year, mostly cuz of Logan Paul I think." I ponder some more before deciding to add "They so far have 5 ep's and 2 singles, with an album coming out soon too."

I dare say, Hailey looked impressed. "Well, you've certainly done your research." Shrugging, I get up and walk to my balcony. Looking over the street below always relieved me and cleared my head.

"Come on Ever, don't put yourself in a rut. I'm sure he's a genuine guy who respects your privacy." When I still didn't reply she continued. "Look, if it makes you feel any better I can stalk him on social media and check out what he's like."

My head instantly shot up. "You'd do that for me?!?" I squealed. Laughing, she enveloped me in a hug and said: "Of course, that's what friends are for, duh!"
