She's caught in the headlights
Of a world that loses its respect for young woman
Society only accepts the rich and popular
The ones who are of a lighter complexion
The curly hair or long straightened hair type of girls
She's strong
She's powerful
She's a black woman
She accepts her social status
Even though she's black
And has short nappy hair
She's a woman of beauty
She might not be as privilege as the rest
But she works hard to achieve her goals
She's strong
She's powerful
She's a black woman
She's a young woman of integrity
One who wants nothing more than to uplift society
She's compassionate and intelligent
She portrays the values and attitudes of a leader
She's strong
She's powerful
