Chapter 4

Emily’s POV

The day went by really slow but it’s finally lunch. This is the only time at school where I can just relax while everyone else are with their cliques. I’m staring at the apple I just bought while sitting under my usual tree across the football field. Just when I was about to take a bite of that apple I felt a presence beside me, I looked up to see Jessica- My former best friend. She looked at me in disgust “I wouldn’t eat that if I were you. You’re already fat enough, you don’t want to get fatter know, do you?” She said, and walked off laughing.

I looked back at the apple, so tempted to eat it but no. I can’t. I sighed and got up from where I was sitting. I walked back to the cafeteria and saw a garbage bin and threw the apple into it. I took a step into the cafeteria and immediately got a few stares. I looked down suddenly taking an interest at my shoes and started walking away. Just when I was almost at the door I bumped into someone causing them to spill their food onto me. The whole cafeteria just bust out laughing and I could feel the tears threating to spill.

The person I bumped into groaned “watch where you’re going” He hissed. I looked up to the person and my eyes met Mike.  “well, well, well. If it isnt little Emily. I must say you look better with all this spaghetti on top of you.” He said while pointing to my clothes with the saghetti and sauce on it.

I looked around at everyone in the cafeteria. Almost everyone was laughing. Theres maybe like one or two people who didn’t laugh. Just when I was about to look back to Mike I spotted Luke. He was sitting at the popular table playing tonsil tennis whith jessica. I sighed in relif that he didn’t see what had just happened. I turned back to Mike and he just looked at me with a smirk. “youre so pathetic” he spat and walked away. Without me even noticing a single tear ran down my face. I wipe it away and ran out of the cafeteria.

I made my way to my locker and got my backpack with all my books. When I got everything I ran out of the school forgetting that I was Luke’s Ride.

Luke’s POV

I looked around the cafeteriaand everyone was laughng, but why? Mike made his way over to the table while laughing softly. “What just happened?” I asked him and he just smirked at me. “just some little B**** who bumped into me making me spill all my food on her” he said.

I nodded my head and looked back at jessica. Yeah I know its my first day and all but when a hot girl like Jessica throws herself at me, I just CANT say no. I noticed Jessica looking at my eyes then my lips and I immediently smashed my lips onto hers again.

The bell finally rang and I get to go home and just Relax. My first day was not nessasairaly bad exept for the homework. I sighed while packing up my stuff and heading to my locker. I quickly got my books and headed to the parking lot. As I walk to the parking lot I stopped in my traks. Where the hell is Emily? She ditched me. Who does that? I let out a fustrated groan while pulling the ends of my hair. How in the world am I supposed to get home now? I cant even remember the way to the house.

“Hey man, whats up?” I heard behind me. I turned around and saw Mike just standing there. “My ride ditched me” I said.

“Wow. First day and youre already being ditched.” He said with a small chuckle but I didn’t say anything.  “Hop in dude” he said while climbing in the Red Comaro that stood next to me.  I got into the passenger seat and he asked me were I lived while turning the key in the ignition.

 “I live with Emily Tyler” I said and he just nooded at me with a blank expression on his face.

We finally arrived at the house and I thanked Mike for the lift and he drove away. I walked to the front porch and unlocked the door with the key Julie made for me.

I walked in and instantly heard voices in the kitchen.  Just when I heard Emily’s name I wanted to stop and listen but Julie already saw me. “Hey Luke. How was your first day?” she asked with a small smile on her lips. I quickly kissed my mothers cheek and sat next to her while looking at Julie. It was okay. I mean I already made new friends, but your daugheter ditche dme so I had to get  ride home” I said kind of annoyed with Emily.

“What do you mean she ditched you?” Julie asked. I mentally rolled my eyes and said “I mean she left without me. She left me on my first day at school. And to be honest with you I havent seen her since before Lunch. I may be wrong about this but I think she left during school”

Julie looked at me and I could see sadness in her voice. “I havent seen her aswell. I mean I saw her car in the garage but not her. I searched for her through the whole house. I though maybe you guys went with a different car, I guess I was wrong”.  I couldn’t help but feel sorry for her. I mean having such a person as Emily as your daughter must be fustrating. I mean she doesn’t eat, she cries because of school, she doesn’t talk. And what else? Oh yeah she leaves school and ditches the person she has to take home.
