Chapter 17

Yoojung's POV
After the movie, we walked out of the shopping mall.

"Wait here. I'll go grab something." Kai told me as he walk towards a fast food resturant across the road.

I obeyed him and waited outside the shopping mall. After 5 mins I saw SinB walking towards my direction, before I could turn away we made eye contact.

oh no what do I do now. My panic mode switched on.

SinB walked towards me and smiled "what are you doing here all alone?" slowly the smile turned into a smirk.

"I... I'm.. waiting for Kai"
"Oh is that so, see you around."

I let out a breath of relieve, suddenly I felt someone pushing me towards the road filled with cars. I lost my balance and fall forward. The last thing I saw was Kai coming out of the fast food resturant before everything turned black.

Kai's POV
I came out of the fast food resturant excited to see Yoojung but instead I saw a car speeding towards her direction.

"YOOJUNG!" I shouted but it was already too late. The car had already hit her and she was falling down.

Everything seemed to be in slow motion, I felt a tear roll down my face as I rushed towards her.

"SOMEONE CALL THE AMBULANCE!"

After what felt like eternalty the ambulance finally arrived. Before I knew it I was already seating at the waiting area as Yoojung was in the emergency room. I tried to contact her parents to inform them about this.

"WHAT?! WHAT HAPPEN TO OUR YOOJUNG" Yoojung's mum let out a sob through the phone, that made me want to cry again but I bit my lips to hold back my tears. Her mum told me that she would book the earliest flight and try to get her as soon as possible.

My mind was filled with guilt.

what if I didn't leave her alone?
this is all my fault.
why was I so stupid !

My whole body feels so weak I've been crying for hours. I head to the toilet to wash up. I washed my faced but my eyes were clear evidence that I've been crying.

After 6 hours of waiting, a doctor finally came out of the room.

"Are you Yoojung's family?"
"I'm her boyfriend."
"okay, she's out of danger for now but... we don't know when she will wake up and there is a huge possibility that she wont ever be able to because she fell hard on her head.. I'm sorry for the terrible news but for now we can only hope for the best. You can see her now."

I slowly walked into Yoojung's room, I stared at her blankly wondering how can this happen to such a beautiful girl? I sat by her bed and held her hand tightly. My eyes were probably tired from all the crying I did earlier. I closed my eyes and before I knew it I was already asleep.

The next morning.

The sunlight woke me up. I recieved a text from Yoojung's mum that she would be arriving soon. I went into the toilet to wash up, I looked terrible my eyes was bloodshot and swollen from all the crying. I went out for some fresh air. When I returned Yoojung's family was already inside, I waited outside so I wouldn't disturb their family time together.

When the came out Yoojung's mum reach out to me for a hug I was taken aback but hugged her back.

"Thank you so much for taking care of my daughter she has told me so much about you" she smiled warmly but I could tell she has been crying. I nod and left to go home and get changed.
