Ten's POV
**********

I sit around Floor 2, waiting for the new trainee to appear. I glance down a street, noticing that the Candy's sweets store was open. Might as well sneak a piece of taffy before that kid comes, I thought. I skip to the establishment, running through the doorway.

"Have no fear, your savior has arrived!!" I yell as I punch my fist in the air.

A few agents glance at me, grin, and then return to shopping.

"Hiii Ten!!" A familiar little voice greets me.

A nine year old Candy Cotton Candy jumps on me, and I gasp.

"There you are, my little princess! How are you doing?" I hold her in my arms.

"Grrreat!!!" She answers cheerfully.

"How's Dahlia?" I ask, remembering the shy little blond boy.

"He's good! Still at the YFAA, sadly," Candy sighs, feeling sympathy.

"I would've thought he had been adopted by an agent until he started training. It's been three years," My eyes sadden,

"I don't know why nobody would want him! He's nice, and fun!" The pink haired girl wriggles out of my arms, jumping down.

"I think I'll adopt him. I was going to a long time ago, but I've been busy with stuff," I scratch my arm.

"For three years?" Candy shakes her head. "You're unbelievable."

"I know. I feel bad. If no one wants him, I'll take him in," I steal a piece of blue salt water taffy and eat it. A blueberry flavor fills my mouth. "How's Licorice and Lollipop?"

"They're good! Just finishing up on making some more taffy," Candy grins.

I look at my watch, a gold one. It's very expensive, given to me by Kieran for our one year anniversary. I had gotten him a silver one.

"I have to go meet that new trainee. See ya, Candy!!" I walk toward the door.

"Buh bye!!!" She waves goodbye.

I go back to my spot near the Waffle House. I see a nineteen year old man, in a dark blue trainee jumpsuit. His eyes looked dead, shining gray orbs that held no emotion. His hair was messy and milk chocolate colored. His skin was very pale, and he looked almost sickly.

He glances at me, and walked over to me on his uneasy twigs.

"You're Tenebris?" A raspy and uninterested voice slithered out of his mouth.

"Ah...yes," I had been taken aback by his voice. "You're...?"

"None of your business," a growl emitted from him.

I hesitate, but calm myself. "Yes, okay. Come, let me show you around."

A huge rumble escapes the guy's stomach. His eyes widen, and I see the smallest hint of surprise flash in his eyes. But the emotion is extinguished, and the male looks away, pink dusting his cheeks.

"You're hungry?" I reach out to him.

He tenses and leans away from my hand.

"...Yes," his pupils tilt downward.

I gently grab his hand, and the blush on his face darkens. I guide him inside the Waffle House. We obtain a booth, and thus sit across from each other.

"You don't seem very healthy. Is everything alright?" I ask, worried.

The young man smiles a little. However, I can see through any fake grin.
