Fight me

The sent of horrid stench awakes me from where I'm sleeping. I've been sleeping underneath an old diner. Underneath the stairs to actually get into the place has a small opening. I've been sleeping around there for maybe a couple months now.

The stench that had awoken me was probably another dead animal that had got killed on the side of the road by a truck. I've been on the streets for too long to know what that stench smells like, and it's not a good smell. It's so rancid you want to jump out of your own skin just to get away from it.

I knew that was definitely my alarm to get up. A pretty good time if I don't say so myself. The owners of the diner hadn't come yet, so at least they won't catch me coming out of my camping ground underneath their business.

I crawl myself outside, seeing the sun rise in the distance made me smile. At least I woke up early enough to see the sunrise today. I instantly ran into the near trees. It was about a six minute run until I got to the perfect spot, the perfect spot to watch the sunrise.

The mixture of the colours; pink, yellow and orange raced across the sky to make it look like a beautiful portrait. Black birds flying in the sky, the peaks of clouds just beginning to appear. I breathe in the air around me, trying to clear my mind before turning around and walking back to get on the closest main road.

The first place I went to was Namjoon's high school. It's kind of become a routine to do this sort of thing. Ever since that day, I ended up being able to outrun the child-care workers. I disappeared and they had no idea where I went. They didn't bother looking for me after that day, but that doesn't mean I can show my face freely, out in the open.

I've been trying to keep a low profile, but at the same time, have been watching over everyone. Over Taehyung, Hoseok and Namjoon. I need to make sure they're okay, at least for my peace at mind.

Once I saw them all approaching the school in their group of three, a smile ran across my face. They all looked to be smiling and laughing. Hoseok definitely looks better than the last time I saw him. I'm sure Taehyung has been treating him well.

Then I saw Namjoon, walking steadily behind the two others, answering them in only few words but looked down with his hands in his pockets. More recently he's been like this but I don't know why. I want to ask him what's troubling him, I want to protect him from anything bad, but I can't show him I'm still here, not now at least. It's still not safe.

Once they all disappeared into the school, I sighed while leaning my body against a tree. I then turned around, the stench on me was staring to become an aroma around me. I wouldn't really care much for how I smelt most of the time, but when it got unbearable even for me, I decided I needed a little wash.

I walked back to where I had come from earlier. My "sunrise spot" also had a close by river where I usually just washed myself. Only when I had to though.

As I took off my clothes and jumped into the water, leaving in result of me splashing everywhere. I tried to wash myself as fast as I could in case someone came out of no where to just see me splashing in a lake naked.

I tried scrubbing my clothes into the water as well, getting as much dirt and mud off of the thin layer of fabric which was the only that that's been covering my body.

At the same time I heard someone walk up to the lake. I wasn't so much scared, but I was prepared with whatever questions they had to ask. When you have no one and are always all alone, you tend to think of conversations you're going to have before they actually happen.

I've thought about how I would answer someone if they asked me what I was doing in the lake, butt naked. I've had fake conversations in my head about what I would say to Namjoon when we finally talk again. Of course his answers will probably be different than the ones I make him have in my head, but I tend to do this a lot.
