Aftermath

---------------------

It's been 24 hours since the banquet, as soon as I announced my drink was poisoned we had hunt around for a while to find the culprit, but I just ran off assuming they had done the same.

Always running...always the cowards way out...

Berk was quieting down as sunset came, people settling animals in for the night and making sure dragons were fed (cause all Valhalla breaks loose if they aren't). I didn't know why I had ran, I guess I was just used to it, now I was sitting on a hill up from the village with Lio laying down at my side. A cold wind blew over us and I pulled my knees up to my chest and sighed.

Why do I always run...why am I such a coward....

My deep thought was interrupted by heavy feet landing beside me, I looked over to see Zac dismounting Kilian

"Hey...are you ok?" he said softly.

I sighed and rested my chin on my knees, "Yea, fit as a fiddle..." I rolled my eyes speaking sarcastically.

"You don't have to have that tone with me..."

"What are you my dad?"

"What are you, hella stubborn?"

I glared at him, he just chuckles and walked over, "How are you doing after last night?" he sat beside me.

"Fine...I guess...I don't know why someone would do this..."

"Get your mind off it, don't worry about it, we'll find them..." he rested a hand on my shoulder.

"Thanks Zac..it helps..."

"Where were you all these years..." his tone of voice changed, to sorrowful, but also lighthearted.

I let out a long sigh, "Hiding...I couldn't face anyone yet...So I just grew my knowledge of dragons and watched from the skies..." I looked down, pulling my knees to my chest.

"But you knew us...you knew us! You could have come back! You could have lived the rest of your childhood with the people who cared for you!" He was standing up by now yelling, I looked at him in shock.

"I didn't want to come back because you all wouldn't understand the truth about the dragons! Then I finally realized you did a few months ago but I didn't have the guts..." I stood up now too yelling back.

"You could have come back to us...to me..." He looked at me with those goddamn emerald eyes...fuck...and with that he turned around and jumped on his dragon and looked at me, "Join us at the arena..."

And he was gone, I was alone with Lio. A long sigh escaped my lips as I flew off after him and landed in the stone arena. I looked around at everyone, all eyes on me, and I felt it again. The pressure, even as a child the pressure of being the DAUGHTER of a chief, who had no son. The village dreaded the day they would have a weak female chief, a small little girl. I suddenly heard blurry voices of people yelling my name and the team came into view.

"Kenzie!" Zac shook my shoulder and I came to my sensed.

"S-sorry..." Was all I could say as I shook my head, the others looked at me.

"What was that?" Snotlout raised an eyebrow.

"Please don't worry about it.." I turned to the side pushing Zac away and stroked Lio's face, "I'm still not used to people again..." I said softly.

"Hey..." Astrid walked up to me, "Don't worry about it, you were without human interaction for 13 years.." she smiled, "But you're smart for that."

"I had small things with the traders...travelled with Yohan for a tiny bit to see some things..." I smiled remembering.

"Any epic stuff..." Tuffnut snickered.

"A lot..." I grinned.

"Alright! Let's talk why we are here..." Hiccup interrupted.

He explained his elaborate plan to have a base, away from Berk, away from everything. A place to look for the dangers coming after us, Dagur, and another foe we are yet to know about.

With that small idea...blazed an adventure...
