Prologue
(There's nothing special)
I've never cared about popularity since junior high. I'm just a gamer that has a bit of intelligence, so why should I care if I'm popular or not, it's pointless. I'm a geek and a gamer, that's how it's meant to be.
Karissa, Brayden and I met on the way to school, though there was no sign of Dylan. The wind swept Karrissa's hair into Brayden's face. All of a sudden I had many flashbacks of our past. Dylan and I were best friends since junior high. I remember this one time we kept trying to dump water on each other. He took this huge bucket, snuck up behind me and there I was standing soaked in water. He snatched me at the waist swung me around and around without stopping. he knew I hated being dizzy, but that's not what I cared about. Holding me in such a weird way was what I cared about. how could he be okay with it since he's the one who grabbed me?
The next year but still grade 7, I met Karissa. She dyed her hair brown with blonde highlights which I thought looked better than her original just plain blonde. Though freshman year we got our hair done together. She had her hair dyed white with green tips, I on the other had got my ends in different shades of green, pixelated. Like a creeper from minecraft. Karissa and Dylan thought it was cool but when my mom saw it, I wasn't allowed to dye it again once it faded. That same year of grade 9, we met Brayden, who joined our so called 'clique'. We weren't part of the popular crowd which I like to call the pops. I guess you could call us the pops of the geeks. The geeks consist of gamers, computer geeks, etc. but not nerds a.k.a the smarties.
More flashbacks kept happening. This was more of a nightmare. The year I got glasses and braces. Everyone made fun of me, even my friends which are part of the pops now. It was grade 6. I heard so many comments. Look at her, she's like the geek of the century. Keilee Lyvester is so weird. Who's that? It's Keilee. Really? Oh my god, she's such a nerd. Then someone said are you ok? I told him that I wasn't really, I just lost my best friends. He suggested that we could be friends. I looked up at him smiling, I spoke softly, "I'm Keilee."
"Enh, too hard to say, I'll just call you kiwi."
The flashbacks stopped. Thinking about it, it wasn't a nightmare it was good because if that never happened I would have never met Dylan.
