Levi sighed as he looked down at the sleeping boy in his lap. What was it about him that made Levi want to help? Had it been anyone else, Levi wouldn't have cared, but there was something about him, the way he limped down the sidewalk when he was so young... and he stopped to help.

Eren, huh? Obviously the kid had some bad anxiety, judging by that attack he had. And what did he mean, his father hit him? It couldn't be what Levi was thinking, he didn't want it to be, but all the evidence pointed to it.

Sighing, he pulled himself out of these thoughts, gently lifting Eren as he stood. Might as well let him sleep on the bed, considering Levi probably wouldn't sleep. There was only a few hours left until morning, and Levi thanked the lord that he was on vacation.

Eren slept through half the day, not even stirring. Levi had, by then, cleaned the house, and his car, and made lunch. When Eren came out into the kitchen, Levi was making pasta, and Eren scared the living shit out of him.

"L-Levi, sir," Eren mumbled, shuffling uneasily on his feet. Levi jumped, turning to look at him. "Dammit, brat, announce your presence next time," Levi muttered. Eren bowed his head, whispering an apology.

Levi shook his head before walking over and doing something he never thought he would have; hugged the boy. Eren stood stock still got a second, before hesitantly returning the embrace.

"Hey, brat, you feeling okay?" Levi asked as he took note of the small tremors that went through the boys body. "Um... well... I think I have a cold, sir," Eren whispered against Levi's collarbone. Pressing the back of his hand against Eren's forehead, he nodded slightly, then turned to her medicine.

"Go lay on the couch, brat," Levi asked from the bathroom. Eren did as told, pulling the blanket that was over the arm of it over himself, letting the cool leather relieve some of the heat on his forehead.

Levi returned shortly, arms loaded with different bottles. He set them gently on the table, then pulled out one from the front bottle and filled a glass of water, heading over to where Eren was laying, almost asleep.

"Hey, Eren, sit up a sec," Levi muttered, sighing as Eren only grumbled and turned away. Setting the pill and water down, he set his hands on Eren's back, forcing him to sit up. Eren muttered incoherent words at him, but didn't protest as Levi handed him the water and medicine.

A few days later, Eren was better, and Levi was finally going to try to pry Eren's back story out of him. He had the 16 year old sit across from him, and started a random conversation with him.

When he saw that Eren was comfortable, he launched the first question. "Hey, Eren, why were you out in the rain that night?" Eren seemed to think for a moment, before saying that his parents had kicked him out. Levi prodded more.

"Why did you say your father hit you?" "Well, sir, he... he has hit me since I was about nine years old, when my sister Mikasa left... he's done it ever since."

Tears began flowing down Eren's cheeks, and Levi leaned over the table and wrapped his arms around him. "Hey, it'll be okay. You never have to go back there. You... you can live with me, okay?"

Eren snapped his head up, green eyes wide in disbelief. "W-What?! Really?! Are you sure?!" Levi nodded, smiling slightly as Eren jumped up and down in excitement. "Oh my god, is this happiness? I think it is, I'm not sure, I haven't felt it in a while, I think it is! Thank you Levi, thank you thank you thank you!"

At this, Levi full on laughed. "Okay, okay, okay, your welcome brat. We'll go shopping for stuff for your room, you can have whichever guest room you want since I have several, now go!"

Eren chose the biggest (of course) so Levi helped him unpack what little stuff he had, then left him to settle in, wondering one thing; what was this boy doing to him?

(Time skip 2 months)

Eren and Levi had grown closer and closer. Casual touches became a little more, dragging on longer than normal, but I'd either noticed, they never brought it up. Eren had taken to calling Levi 'Heichou,' which Levi protested to, but eventually let up, and Levi normally called him 'brat' in return.

"Brat, get down here a minute!" Levi called. It was noon, and Eren was out of school, which he had recently gone back too. Levi had something on his mind, something that made him nervous to even think about.

"Hey, Heichou, what's up?" Eren asked as he came from the hallway, hair still ruffled from laying down. Levi motioned for him to sit, then took a deep breath. "Eren, I... I think I love you, more than I probably should. I... was wondering if you'd go out with me."

In the blink of an eye, Eren was all over him, smiling happily as he said, "I thought you'd never ask!" Levi smiled, the one that he saved just for Eren, and kissed him.

"I'll be your Safe Haven," Levi whispered in Eren's ear that night. "I'll protect you, you'll never go back to that house, never. Promise me. Promise you'll stay." Eren looked up from snuggling his face into Levi's broad chest, smiling softly.

"I promise with all my heart, I'll never leave you, I'll protect you, to, okay?" Levi nodded, happy with that answer. Once he thought his life was over, now he saw, it was just beginning.

Okay guys, that's it! I'm actually crying right now, I finished a fanfiction all the way through! So proud of myself :)

Anyways, I'm surprised that this got any views at all, cause I suck at writing. Literally. I hope you enjoyed if you took the time to read it all the way through, and maybe check out my other works if you want. That's it, may the Stars light your path!
