"Now you've got me cuffed and you don't even know me."

The late bell had rung, causing Emma to rush to class. She got caught up in her English class trying to figure out how to get her 99% A to a 100%. Yes, she was THAT girl. Although she didn't know better than to get straight A's normally be the first one in class, she yearned for an actual social life. She had stepped into her Chemistry class, trying to control her breathing. She glanced around the room noticing that Kamryn wasn't in her usual seat. She had now been sitting in the middle of the room next to a guy Em has never noticed before.
"Assigned seats were changed."
Emma let's out a sigh as she walks over to the teachers desk to look for her seat. She was upset seeing as before she was seated next to her one and only best friend Kamryn. She skins through the lists of names and found hers seated next to, a Zion? She furrows her eyebrows at the name.
"Zion?" She whispers to herself.
'What an amazing name' she thought. Surprisingly enough she was sorted in front of Kamryn, she happily walked over and greeted her friend.
"He's cute." Kamryn nudges Emma as she points her head to Zion.
Emma looks over at the boy next to her seat and shakes her head.
"He's too cute." Emma said.
"Talk to him." Kamryn demanded.
Emma nods as she sits in her seat and receives a welcoming smile from Zion.
"Hey." Zion says with an adorable smile.
Emma opens her mouth and then closes it, struggling to reply. Kamryn kicks her seat as Emma awkwardly smiled back at him, turning her gaze on to her notebook.
"Alright guys now today we are going to be talking about Cell diffusion, take notes because once you get back from break there's a unit test." Our teacher begins to lecture us as she clicks through the PowerPoints.
Emma scribbled her notes in Cornell style, which is the best way to organize notes in her opinion. She would even draw little diagrams for future references. At this point the brunette hadn't noticed that she was humming her favorite song. As she hummed she heard the boy next to her sing along.
"I know you so well." He sung as Emma stopped humming.
Emma smiled but didn't say a word, scared that she would end up saying something embarrassing.
"No he did not!" Emma and the rest of the class heard Kamryn say in laughter.
The teacher abruptly stops talking and the whole class turns to look at Kamryn and her partner bursting into fits of laughter.
"Edwin. Kamryn. Have something to share with the class?" The teacher questioned.
"I'm so sorry ma'am, but I do not have anything to share with the class." Edwin stifled a laugh.
"Sorry miss." Kamryn nodded.
"Don't make me changed seats again." The teacher 'threatened'.
The class' attention gets brought back to the board as she continued her lecture. However Zion's attention was focused on something else. He ripped a paper out of his note book and folded it into a square, scribbling something on the outside of it.
He placed it on Emma's desk in hopes of becoming friends with her. Emma hesitantly grabbed the note reading the content.
'My number if you want to talk
XXX-XXX-XXX'
- ZiEmma smiled but was internally freaking out. She stuck the number into the folder in her notebook and gave him a shy smile.
"Ofcourse I'll text you." She whispered.
Right then bell rung and the last class before winter break had ended.
