They say the eyes are a window to the soul, for cats, this is no exception. When a kit is born with strange eyes, their soul is often a special thing. In fact, it often grows stronger with others as it fades from you.
"Hurry up, Dawnwhisker!" Purplesoul called as she watched from the ledge. The purple-eyed tabby sat down and watched her sister climb up the ravine. "I'm not as quick as you when I climb! It's not my fault you have to wait for me!" The young calico reached over the top of the ledge and heaved herself over. "Finally, that took moons." Purplesoul humorously meowed. "Oh shush! I'm getting better, you must admit that!" Dawnwhisker mewed. Purplesoul nodded in agreement as they turned to face the deep ravine. "Do you ever wish you could live outside of the clan?" Purplesoul purred. Dawnwhisker looked at her fluffy sister in astonishment. "You mean become a rogue?" She laughed, trying to keep her cool. "Sort of, I don't mean anything by it. I would like to live somewhere beautiful, like this ravine." Purplesoul said as if she were daydreaming.
"Anyways, it's getting late and we should go." Purplesoul said. Dawnwhisker stood up by her sister and walked home in the sunset. As soon as they finished crossing thunderpath, they heard a strange noise from the bushes. "Dawnwhisker, did you hear that?" Purplesoul mewed as quiet as she could. Dawnwhisker replied fearfully, "Purplesoul, I'm scared." Purplesoul commanded her sister to stay back as she approached the source of the noise.
