{18}Welcome To The Family...

Justin and I stood at the door of my parent's house. I lifted my hand to knock but before I could the door opened.

"Miley you look beautiful and Justin you look handsome as always, come in."

Justin and I walked inside to be greeted by my dad.

"Hello Mr. Ray how have you been?"

It took a minute for my dad to reply.

"Good and yours."

"It's been amazing."

"Justin honey if you wouldn't mine, can you give me a hand in the kitchen."

"Of course not."

I watched Justin as he slowly disappeared into the kitchen.

"So Miley. How have you and Justin been?"

I looked over at my dad.

"Why are you acting like you care about my feelings all of the sudden?"

"Miley don't be like that. You know I care about your feelings and if Justin makes you happy then I'm happy."

"Dad stop acting like this. I know you don't care."

"No Miley you stop. I've realized I shouldn't have judged Justin by not even knowing him. He's only been kind to you and your mother and I. I'm the one that told your mother to set this dinner up so I could get to know him more since you're going to be with him."

I stood there in shock.

"Wait... are you saying you're going to give Justin a shot?"

"If he makes my princess happy then why not?"

A huge smiled formed on my face and walked over to him and wrapped my arms around him.

"Dinner is ready!"

I heard my mom yell. We walked into the kitchen. I saw Justin standing behind a chair and i walked over and sat down. He pushed me up to the table and sat down beside me. After a little chatter my dad stood up to make a toast. I looked over at Justin and smiled.

"Ok I would like to make a toast. I know I haven't been the friendliest person to Justin but I would like to say sorry for that. Justin, you make my daughter happy and that's all I could ask for, I know I judged you but I listened to the media and I regret it, because your nothing like they described you. You're actually a really kind guy and I respect you a lot more now that you're dating my daughter. One last thing I would like to say to Justin before I sit down."

He paused for a second and looked at Justin and I.

"Welcome to the family son."

"Well it was nice seeing you Mrs. and Mr. Ray. I hope to do this again soon but maybe I can take y'all both out and invite my parents so y'all can meet."

"That would be amazing. We would love that."

I watched my mom give Justin a hug and I walked over to my dad.

"Thank you again. I couldn't ask for anything better than this." I wrapped my arms around him. I missed this feeling so much.

After we got done hugging I saw my dad walk up to Justin and whisper something to him.

It was 11:30 when we finally got home.

"Justin what did my dad whisper to you before we left?"

He grabbed both of my hands and wrapped them around his waist and put his arms around my neck.

"He told me he gives me permission to marry you. But I told him that it was too soon to get married and he said well when the time comes he gives me permission."
