Chapter 1: Abused And Adopted

Lily's POV
All the kids were running around playing with each other, I just sat and watched the kids. Then Elizabeth came up to me and pushed me to the ground. "You're weak Lily, you don't deserve to live slut!" She spat at me then started physically beating me. All the kids came over and surrounded me. My bright green eyes were full of fear and my navy blue hair was a knotted mess. "Look at you Lily, why don't you just kill your ugly ass self." She spat at me then everyone started laughing as she kicked me. "Kids, a couple is coming to adopt!" Mr. Dash shout then all the kids rushed in after Elizabeth punched me one last time, I had blood dripping from my face and various other places. I weakly got up and limped to my room not caring that a couple was coming. I opened my laptop and turned on some Jeff Dunham, my favourite puppet was Peanut. He was so funny, I watched the videos with a frown on my face. I hate my life.

Jeff's POV
Me and Audrey were going to adopt a child today, we both decided on a girl. We walk into the orphanage and some of the kids stared at us as if they seen a ghost. "Welcome Mr. and Mrs. Dunham, we are delighted to have you here." A man said as he walked up to us. "We're delighted to be here." I said with a kind smile then the man looks in the crowd and I do the same thing. "Where's Lily?" He asked as he looked in the crowd of children. Some kids roll their eyes and they give disgusted looks. "Well?" He said again but they still didn't answer. "She must be in her room." He mumbled and he gestured us to follow him. We followed him and he knocked on the door. I could hear muffled sobs in the bedroom.

Lily's POV
I turned my laptop off then started to cry. I heard a soft knock on my door and Mr. Dash opened but I couldn't believe who was behind him. Jeff Dunham, I continued to look down and I put my hood up. Mr. Dash left me with Jeff and Audrey.

Jeff's POV
The girl kept turning her face away and looking down the closer I got. I looked at all the posters and pictures on her wall, most of them were Peanut. "You're a fan?" I said as I looked at her, she twitched and nodded slowly. She continued to twitch as I walk up to her, I sat down in front of her and Audrey was right behind me. "Can I see your face?" I asked kindly as she shook her head. I placed my hand on her chin which for some reason felt wet, I thought it was the tears. I lifted her head and put her hood down. Me and Audrey gasp at the amount of blood that was dripping down Lily's face. She also had multiple bruises, scratch marks, and scars. She had two black eyes and I couldn't tell if she could see or not, me and Audrey were both shocked and worried all at once. "Who the hell did this?!" I practically shouted as I examined her face, she faces me and she slightly opens her mouth. "T-the k-kids here, they did this to me." She said and she started to cry. "Oh Lily.." I said as I hug her comfortably, she was trying not to get blood on my shirt I could tell. Audrey looked down at me and I looked up at her. "Audrey, I think we found our pick." I said and she nods. "I'll go sign the forms." She said then left the room leaving me with Lily. "How old are you Lily?" I asked kindly. "14.." She said quietly, I was concerned about her sight. "Can you see?" I asked with lots of concern trapped in my god damn brain. "Barely." She said quietly, but enough for me to hear. Audrey comes back in with a smile on her face. "Welcome to the family Lily Dunham." She said with a smile, Lily wearily smiled back but it caused blood to flow out the cuts rapidly. Audrey quickly reached into her purse and tossed me two packs of tissues, I open the tissues and start to wipe the blood off of her face.

Lily's POV
After Jeff wiped the blood off my face, he threw the tissues away and helped me pack. Jeff took down one of the pictures I drew and looked at it with a look of shock. "Did you draw this?!" He practically shouted in amazement as he turn the picture so I could see, It was a picture of him and Peanut. I nodded slowly as I continue to roll up pictures and posters, placing them in my suitcase. "This is amazing, it looks so realistic!" He shouted as he rolled it up and placed it in my suitcase. After we were done packing, we headed to the car and Jeff put all my stuff in the trunk, I hopped in the back and Jeff sat beside me which made me confused. Audrey obviously was the one driving and we made our way to the house.
