Based on a True Story
1996, Manhattan Train Station~
"Ma'am? Ma'am! You've dropped your wallet!" A 26 year old girl heard a british voice call from behind her. She turned around to see an old homeless lady holding her pocketbook. She grabbed it from her quickly.
"Do you have any change on you?" The small framed woman asked as the young girl turned to leave. She turned around and smiled politely.
"No, I don't." The woman anxiously checked her watch, She was about to miss the train. The small framed woman grabbed her arm and she stopped in her tracks to looked at her.
"Are you expecting, Adeleine?" The woman grinned as if she were a child at a birthday party and Adeleine was taken back by the homeless lady somehow knowing her name.
"Yes, now if you would excuse me, I have to go." Adeleine turned to leave again but the next words to come out of the elderly lady stopped her once more.
"You're going to have a beautiful baby boy." She gave the future mom a toothless smile and Adeleine tried to explain to her that a couple of months before, the doctor had told her that it was a girl. She looked at the lady to see her laughing at her confusion. She grabbed Adeleine's face and brought it closely to hers, suddenly turning serious.
"Just remember, dear, don't count your chickens before they hatch! Now go on, catch your train." She let go of her and vanished into the crowd of busy people, as if nothing had ever happened in the first place.
