He misses his friend, which leads him to feel as though it is winter, characterised by emptiness and absence of warmth despite the fact that he is physically experiencing summer.

"Snowpiercer" refers to a 2013 film with the same name co-created by South Korea, the U.S, and France. The film is based on the French book Le Transperceneige, and is a social satire addressing capitalism and the class system.

Summary from IMDb:

"Set in 2031, the entire world is frozen except for those aboard the Snowpiercer. For 17 years, the world's survivors are on a train hurtling around the globe creating their own economy and class system. Led by Curtis, a group of lower-class citizens living in squalor at the back of the train are determined to get to the front of the train and spread the wealth around. Each section of the train holds new surprises for the group who have to battle their way through. A revolution is underway."

I've heard that in the end they discovered that a polar bear was still survived outside the train so RM mentioned this film to tell us that even in worst situation there is always hope.

During his exclusive V Live CH+ broadcast on 14 February, 2017, Rap Monster explained that the original lyrics of the pre-chorus was supposed to be "Leaves (Hangul: 낙엽; Romanization: nagyeop) falling down". However, it was then changed to "snowflakes" in order to suit the season.
