Venus POV.
"I am going to be late!" I mumble out loud running up the stairs to the school. I didn't notice the uneven paved step until my foot got caught, I prepare my self to make contact with the cement by throwing my arms out in front of me. Instead of feeling cement though I feel a rough jerk of my arm and crash land into a familiar greenish gray hoodie.
"Slooow down Vee, before you hurt someone, like yourself." Reed Isley chuckles standing me up right.
"Thanks Reed that would have be really bad, I mean really really bad." I say trying to gain some composure. "Question though aren't you late for class? I know that's why I was running." I challenge giving him a knowing look that he had no intention on being in class on time.
"I just came back from somewhere, I swear I have a note!" he pleaded throwing his hands up in a joking manner however I noticed the humor didn't really reach his eyes.
"Riiight a very likely story, well come on if we are both late then maybe we can get just fifty percent of the lecture." I say grabbing his sleeve practically dragging him to the front doors.
"BUT I DONT WANNA!" He whines giving me his best child like tantrum.
"Don't make me pull you by your ear." I threaten giving him a pointed look.
"HA! Sure you will." He laughs. "OW.. OW.. Vee let go!" His laughs turn into pleads as we pass our lockers and I drag him to our homeroom Mrs. Benston room.
"Here we go." I say finally releasing his ear. Reed muffles something under his breath and gives me daggers with his eyes. I just roll my eyes and knock on the door, I already know that it is locked since this isn't my first time being late. The very plump Mrs. Benston waddles from her desk to the door giving us a very distained look. Instead of letting us in though, she walks out into the hall way.
"Kirkwood and Isley how am I not surprised?" Mrs. Benston wheezes. Her over coffeed breath hits my face and my stomach turns.
"We wouldn't want to give you a heart attack being on time now would we?" I say smartly, what can I say the woman gets on my nerves. Not amused she grabs my ear and starts down the hall I hear Reed snicker at me just having been in this position moments before. "This is child abuse!" I yell as we walk past various class rooms and with more force than I'd care for she sits me infront of the principles office. Following close behind Reed sits next to me without a care in the world.
"We will see what the principle has to say about that mouth of yours young lady, and with that she turns around to waddle her way back to her room.
"Wipe that smirk off of your face." I hiss looking at Reeds beaming face.
"But Vee you just made my day." Reed states throwing his feet out and reclining in the seat next to me.
"Well your here to see the principle too." I shot back hoping to make that grin waiver.
"Like I said, I have a note." Reed replies his grin deepening as he waves a folded piece of paper in the air between his two fingers.
I try to reach up and grab it but he moves it out of my reach, I give him a warning look which he returns with a more humored look. I reach over him and try to snatch it again but to no avail.
"Aw Venus if you wanted a hug all you had to do was ask." Reed laughs while I am flaying at that stupid note. I growl at him and prepare myself for my final attempt to get it when the office door opens up and the sound of someone clearing their throat stops me midway and I face plant on the floor.I turn around and find Dick looking at me with a surprised look on his face and Reed just nonchalantly waltzing into the principles office. That prick, he is dead! My face burns with embarrassment and anger as I quickly jump up and try to recover.
