RJ jammed her suitcase into the car. She threw her backpack and the rest of her luggage into the car trunk as well. She picks up one carry bag and handles it carefully in particular.
"So, you're going to man handle your other bags but this one is like a delicate angel?" Angelina, RJ's best friend since first grade, asks as she closes the trunk.
RJ gets into the driver's seat and rolls down her window, Angelina walks up to it. "Well, it had my computer and my Wacom drawing tablet. I couldn't let those break. A few tossed clothes is nothing to stress over." She says. Angelina gets into the passenger seat by the RJ, she buckles up and smiles at her. RJ starts pulling the car out of the parking lot.
"This will be exciting though! You'll be in the same apartment building I am! Who would of guessed? Two best friends, reunited in high school and now living in the same apartment building. This will be fun! I can ask for soap and sugar!" Angie exclaims.
"I hope the soap and sugar are both for different uses." RJ says. Angie just rolls her eyes and grins.
"Too bad we're going to different colleges." Angie sighs.
"We'll be living right next to each other now. No need to go to the same college. Besides I really needed to get out of there from Wendy.. She was really messy, bossy, and took all my stuff." RJ says, pulling up to a stop light.
"Guess it's good you got out of there than, right?" Angie suggests. RJ shrugs.
"I suppose." RJ responds. Angie suddenly gets an idea and punches RJ in the shoulder.
"Can I call you Taz! Like back in high school! Remember? When we called you Taz!" Angie exclaims. ((It's true. I'm a high schooler now and my friend's do actually call me Taz))
"First off, OW!", RJ yelps from the shoulder punch "And second off, its Taizo. And sure, I don't mind." RJ says. She rubs her shoulder. As the light turns green, she continues driving and makes a turn.
"Yeahhhhh Taizo and Emily reunited again." Angie says.
"They were united way before." RJ comments.
"Now they're back together yet again. There, that better? You happy? Can we finish the sequel?" Angie replied. RJ chuckles. She pulls into one of the apartment parking spots, gets out and opens the trunk.
"Can't wait to smell that new apartment smell. Either that or be greeted by rotting mold." RJ says.
"Do you need any help taking stuff to your apartment?" Angie asks.
"If you could help carry, yes sure. I would appreciate that. That way I can get everything in at once and not have to walk back and forth to my car, risking someone will steal something when I'm not here." RJ says. They both take some of RJ's stuff, surprisingly getting it all. RJ closes the trunk and locks the car as they start walking to the apartment.
"Did Mrs. Gutter tell you? Each of the apartment units and apartments themselves here are cleaned, taken well care of, and respected. This is the best place to be as far as kind of cheap but fancy apartment living." Angelina says.
"Who's Mrs. Gutter again?" RJ asks.
Angie sighs."Mrs. Gutter is the owner of this place. The one you'll give your money, the one who sold you an apartment. You know? Her. That Mrs. Gutter." Angie says.
"You don't really meet a Mrs. Gutter every now and then." RJ replies. Angie shrugs and makes an I-suppose-you're-right-on-that-one kind of facial expression.
They get to her apartment on the 6th floor. Stepping out of the elevator and walking up to her apartment door, RJ unlocks the door with her key. RJ and Angie walk in. They place the baggage down. Angie looks at the few furniture RJ had bought previously and placed in. They plopped down on the sofa.
"You already started putting in furniture?" Angie asks.
"Yeah, and I'm buying all new furniture for my apartment. I don't have classes tomorrow or Wednesday, so I'll be buying furniture and stuff. Do some shopping." RJ says.
"It looks nice. Do you have a bed?" Angie asks.
"That I uh.. Do not have just yet. But I'll be fine sleeping on my couch tonight." RJ says.
"If you knew you'd be sleeping in your apartment tonight, and you had bought and moved in furniture couple days prior.. Wouldn't it have been smart to buy a bed?" Angie asks.
"I didn't think about it ok!" RJ defends.
Angie chuckles. "I'm just messing with ya Taz. Calm down." She says.
RJ just smiles. "Buying a bed prior would have been a good idea though. You have a point." She agrees.
They talk and watch some TV for awhile. They laugh and tell a few jokes. They even drink a little.
"Is water all you have to drink?" Angie asks, taking sips from the drink glass.
"For now that is. Until I can go shopping for groceries." RJ says.
Angie glances at the time on her phone. "I have to go sorry. Unlike you, I got classes tomorrow." She says, getting up.
"Alright, night Angie! Talk to you tomorrow." RJ says. They hug and RJ opens the door for Angie, letting her out.
RJ turns off the TV and lays on her couch. Trying to get comfortable, she shifts and turns around in place. She sighs and gets up. She pulls out a blanket from one of her bags. Laying back down on the couch, she wraps herself in the blanket. She stares up at the roof for a while.
"Tomorrow. Something new and exciting will happen. Tomorrow.." RJ whispers to herself.
RJ looks at the roof for a bit. She slowly closes her eyes. And then, out like a light, RJ falls straight asleep.
