tooru knew it was a horrible idea to climb a tree.

though some part of him told him to challenge iwaizumi. he wasn't scared. he wasn't a baby. he could climb a tree. he'd prove it.

hajime had told him how, to wrap his legs around and slowly pull himself up till he got to a branch. then to use the branches as a latter.

the bark clawed at his soft legs, leaving little red lines as tooru pulled himself up. his heart pounded his his chest. his head spun. "how much farther till I find a branch."

in response hajime laughed, "you've barely made it up a meter! you sure you don't want to give up?"

tooru whined and pushed himself to go father and faster, aching to prove the other wrong. his leg slipped and he cried out. "I'm gonna fall! iwa-chan!"

"you're not gonna fall. stop whining." hajime reassured him.

"I don't wanna do this anymore!" tooru yelled, clinging onto the tree.

"the drop down."

tooru whined again, looking over his shoulder at the ground. he was way higher than a meter, hajime lied."I'm not going to drop down are you crazy?!"

"you'll be find just land on your legs and hands."

"NO."

"I'll catch you then."

"NOO!"

"then climb down."

"mGh fine!"

slowly, tooru pushed himself downward, the tree bark digging into his skin even worse than before. god it hurt, but it was better than falling.

until his food slipped and he lost his other foot, not being able to hold himself by his arms. so he did fall. and screamed the whole time. when his body his the ground, his right knee made first impact. his elbow and shoulder came next. his knee burned, it felt like it had been pushed inward, probably because it did.

hajime had to cover his ears tooru was crying so loud. though he couldn't keep them covered for long, tooru actually couldn't move his leg. "stop screaming!" he shouted at the brunet who turned his face to the ground and covered his mouth. "thank you."

turns out tooru had badly injured his knee, so bad he couldn't walk on it. he had a brace and crutches.

hajime had apologized over a hundred times, but all tooru did was thank him for carrying him home that day, then spending all his allowance on icecream for the two of them. he even forgot that he had said that he wouldnt talk to iwa-chan if he got hurt. hajime still felt like crap however. he wasn't going to forgive himself for making tooru climb that tree.
