"So mum what's going to happen to our apartment?"
"Your cousins are coming to rent it"
"Oh ok." I felt in a rather curious mood so I asked "How did you get the money for the plane tickets and moving fee?" Our family wasn't the richest. My dad worked as a chef in a restaurant near by and my mum was a house wife, having to take care of my brothers. "We have been saving up for the last 6 months because we knew how much you wanted to see where I grew up." My mum said. I felt so touched that they have done this for me. I gave my mum a tight hug. "Thank you so much guys!"
"Don't worry about it. Just consider it a early birthday present." My dad said. I nodded, leaned back, put my headphones in and closed my eyes wanting to go to sleep. At least that was the idea, within a second my phone went off notifying me that I had a text message. I sighed looking at it as my eyes grew wider.
Sarah (Bestie💕)-
Hey girl,
What you doin this weekend? We need a shopping spree don't you think?😝😝
Crap! I forgot to tell my friends!! So I quickly wrote back.
Irina-
I have some news for you.
I pressed send and a reply came almost instantly.

I read the message and sighed shaking my head. Typical Sarah.

I'm moving to LA
I clicked send. Then waited.

Your kiddin me! You can't be moving to LA! NO. Pls tell me your kidding.

I'm really sorry. I didn't know until this afternoon we r on our way to the airport now.

I clicked send and closed my eyes.
"Mum where are we going to live?" I heard my 15 year old brother, Matthias, asked.
"We're going to be living next grandma's house so you can see her everyday to pay back for all those years." I smiled to myself in excitement.
I really wanted to know where mum grew up but what I wanted the most was to meet my grandma. I'm 17 years old turning 18 in two months and I haven't met my grandmother in person before. We would write letters to her and send her gifts on occasions but I don't know much about her. All I knew was that her name was Jane.
