Part two

Strangers of the past

Chapter one: the begin to the end

Thorn-back slithered out of the shadows in a dark intimidating way

" what do you think your doing" thorn-back challenged

" this is our land you of all people should know that" countered bore-fang

" why me of all people you act like I've done this before" thorn-back said smoothly

" no but this is your clan and you never forget your territory" flame-catcher intruded with

" that is right it is my clan and I live in this hole protecting my clan so what are you going to do now oh mighty leader" sneered thorn-back

" protect my clan to the death even if that means I have to fight you or chase you" flame-catcher replied strongly

" will you are going to have to put up a fight because I'm not going with out one it's been to long to do that" thorn-back said in a Manner that sent a chile down your spine colder than the southern wind

" this is foolish flame-catcher you have nothing to prove just banish him and walk away" bore-fang replied enraged

" yes of course thorn-back you are banished from these lands never come back" said flame-catcher confused but relied. As soon as thorn-back left the patrol continued.

" what was going on I've never seen you be that aggressive" questioned bore-fang as the rest of the patrol nodded there heads.

" I don't know what came over me I just had this deep feel that I wanted to kill him and the rest of me responded" said flame-catcher still confused from what happened.

" will don't let it happen again you just showed a weakness that could have gotten us all killed" spat bore-fang

" yes sir" flame-catcher said shamefully. The rest of the time was spent in an awkward silence.

a soon as they got back to camp flame-catcher hurried to his den to see

silver-scale. But when he looked she wasn't there and in fact no matter where he looked he couldn't find her. He asked around camp and no one had seen her since he left. He talked to his father and he gave a grim look and said

" your mate we'll be taken away unless you complete the task given to you by your ancestors or so says the profit"

" I fought off two legs how was that not my task"

" maybe it was only the calm before the storm go back to the cave I will watch over the clan"

" thank you..... father"

" you need all the help you can get know go take who you need" with that I was off. I took the same snakes I did on the first trip long-fang and fang-hearted. They did not object they were quite bored of sentry duty. We went the same way we did before when we got to the cave I saw

something I told them to wait. Down from the trees swooped an owl it was aiming for the cave. It got to the entrance of the cave and there was a big flash and all that was left of the owl was bones. It made me think that the bones I had seen before were the end product of this but why could only snakes get through? As he thought to himself long-fang and fang-hearted went to the entrance of the cave and asked in unison

" are you coming or not"

" yes of course just give me a second"

" take your time" the way they said that made it seem like they didn't see the owl at all. Was I a sign telling me why there were so many bones I couldn't deal with this now I had to enter the cave. So in I went. Going the same way I did before. Luckily I didn't die in the process.

I went back to the city but no one was there! What ever happened it looked like they left in a hurry. Was I too late? I searched the area for clues. Nothing. But right as I was about to give up I found a blood trail it lead to the big scale camp aka human house for those of you that are new. Were they captured by those peaty big scales. I thought I had gotten rid of them thought flame-catcher. Well here I go on another adventure.

Chapter two: help

" help help" yelled silver-scale

" no one is going to hear you sweetie, I'm sorry"

" no don't say that dad, flame-catcher well hear me"

" he is already gone don't keep fussing over him"

" how can you think like that"

" two of my men died under his command how am I not suppose to think like that"

" at least he carried the bodies out, it isn't even his sworn duty"

" don't speak to your father like that"

" I'll speak to you how ever it want to"

" no you well not"

" you are not the leader any more, it is time you respect my choices"

" you are so like your mother"

" ya I guess I picked up a few things from her"

" I'm sorry I yelled at you"

" it's ok I was no nicer"

" that is very true but we really shouldn't be fighting at a time like this"

" no we have to get out of here. But how"

" look at this bar we could easily slip through it"

" there I'm through" cried silver-scale but perhaps she was to loud

Chapter three: I'm coming

It had been seven days since I left on this journey thought flame-catcher as he slithered down the tunnels. Searching for any trace of another snake. Nothing. It didn't even look like any snake lived down here. I got to the big-scale camp and nothing was there. Just a burnt down pile of rubble. Where could silver-scale and her clan be?

Chapter four: it's just a dream

Flame-catcher woke with a sudden start.
