Percy POV
As most of you probably know, my name’s Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon. What most of you probably don’t know is that as of this moment, I was in the Big House at Camp Half-Blood, a camp for demigods (children of the gods), and the only one in known existence, with my girlfriend of about a month, and best friend of 4 years, Annabeth Chase, on my lap as we waited for Chiron, the immortal trainer of heroes (and yes, he is a centaur), along with Thalia (daughter of Zeus, and eternal handmaiden of Artemis and Lieutenant of her Hunters) and Nico (son of Hades, and self-proclaimed Ghost King).
We didn’t have to wait for long, however, as Chiron walked in and threw a note down on the ping pong table in slight frustration (and yes, we were sitting around the ping pong table, which has come to become the place where all quests were handed out if time was available).
“Chiron, what’s wrong?” asked Annabeth
“Nothing of much worry, my dear,” he replied, “Just the Fates trying to create another parallel dimension again.”
Again? I thought, what does he mean by again?
“What do you mean again?” asked Annabeth, voicing my thoughts.
“Never mind that,” said Chiron, “I have been allowed to tell you one thing: all four of you are going back in time in order to attempt changing things for the better, but you must be careful. There are greater things at work and you mustn’t interfere too much or we may all suffer. Oh, and Thalia, Nico? Please be nicer. He’s already –”
And that was when we were sucked through a white light and twisted, bent, and generally mutilated in different positions before we fell onto some mattresses.
I get up, and quickly find Annabeth, and help her up.
“I’m fine, Seaweed Brain,” she replied, before I noticed that she looked different than before. Her eyes were more sunken and she looked as if she hadn’t slept in a while, and she was staring at me as if I were from a different planet.
“Wise Girl!” I heard myself exclaim, though I’m sure I didn’t say that. I turn around, only to see my clone run over to another Annabeth and help her up.
I get a good look at her, only to find that she was MY Annabeth, or at least the Annabeth that looked like the one I last saw in the Big House.
“Annabeth,” I said, “Why do you and I have clones?”
It was only then that I noticed that not only were me, my clone, Annabeth, and her clone there, but so were the gods (sitting on their thrones in the old throne room), a Hispanic looking elf, a tomboyish girl with choppy hair, a Roman-looking dude with a small scar on his lips, an African-American girl with golden eyes, an large, stocky Asian kid, and, of course, Thalia and Nico.
“And who are you guys?” I asked, pointing to the people I’ve never seen before.
“Care to introduce yourselves mortals?” demanded Zeus
“Lord Zeus,” I said, “You already know us. It’s me, Percy Jackson.”
“No way,” said the new people as they looked at me and my clone
“Dude, you were just rescued from the pit,” said the Hispanic elf.
“Leo, not the time,” said the tomboyish girl, shoving the Hispanic elf, er, Leo.
“No, we most certainly do not know you, Percy Jackson,” spat Zeus, “now care to explain as to why you’re here?”
Once me, my Annabeth, Thalia, and Nico got together, I answered.
“We,” I said, gesturing to my group, “were informed by Chiron, who was informed by the Fates that we were sent in the past to help create an alternate dimension.”
“Oh, Styx, not again,” said Zeus, shaking his head.
“Sir,” said (my) Annabeth, “If I may, what do you mean ‘not again’?”
“The Fates, every other millennia or so, decide that they shall send back a few unfortunate souls into the past, in order to create an alternate dimension in which a major event is avoided,” said Athena, “however, we have yet to figure out whether an alternate dimension is created, as we do not have the means to check as of yet.”
“So,” said the Hispanic elf, “How are we to create an alternate dimension?”
Just then, a book appeared in the middle of the room. Hermes shrunk down and picked up the book. He opened the cover, and found a note, and read it.
Dear designated reader,
We, the Fates, have decided to create an alternate dimension in which two upcoming wars in the past section of time do not occur. 11 demigods have been sent back in time in order to help with this, and they shall introduce themselves only as their first and last name and godly parent. Gods, do not blast any of these demigods, as they have important roles yet to come in their timelines that must be completed or the end of the Fifth Age as we know it will come. You all will be reading 10 books in this order:
Lightning Thief
Sea of Monsters
Titan’s Curse
Battle of the Labyrinth
Last Olympian
Lost Hero
Son of Neptune
Mark of Athena
House of Hades
Blood of Olympus
We hope that the reading of these books will help create an alternate dimension which will be a better version of our own dimension.
The Fates
P.S. More demigods may come and some demigods may go, but the point at which this is done has yet to be determined.
“Well,” said Poseidon, “that was enlightening. Shall we get on with the introductions?”
