Swayam was sleeping peacefully when his ringing cell phone got him irked. He for once, thought ofbeating the shit out of the person when he saw the clock striking 2 at night. But his expressions changed, from furious to worry. His face went pale. It was his girlfriend. Sharon. The only person who could gethim to do any kind of a work, and he won't even protest.

He picked up the phone and carefully heard what she had to say. He grabbed his T-shirt from one cornerof the room while assuring her that he will soon be there with her. He slid on his footwear and locked thedoor at his back. He checked on to the lift, but Alas! It was taking lot of his time. He didn't have that muchof time to waste upon. He had to reach her. Regretting his decision of choosing an apartment at thetwelfth floor, quickly he got down through the stairs. Jumping over a couple of steps, panting heavily hereached the parking lot. He didn't even care for the weird look that a girl passed at him as he kept runninglike Majnu in his superman shorts.

He drove through the silent roads of Mumbai. It was a beautiful sight to witness but then He couldn't. Hehad only one thing in his mind. Sharon.

He pushed the brakes as he reached the parking area in her lane. Parking his car there he ran through thestreets, reaching the building where she resided. He looked up at her balcony. It was dark there. No signof lights.

The door clicked, indicating his presence. But she was too scared to look up for him, once. She felt his coldpalms holding her arms. It was known to her that it was his touch. But she was scared, scared that shemight have the sight of someone else rather than him.

When she didn't respond to his hold, he gently embraced her. He knew she was having a tough timedealing with all the nightmares she had, after her mother's' departure. She was broken when she learntabout her mother's sudden death. She had almost lost everyone who was dear to her. She kept sobbing inhis hold, when he said a few consoling words to her. Only he knew that it wasn't easy to console a lovedone of yours, especially when that is concerned about someone who has been an integral support to theperson.

He knew she had been really close to her mother. It pained to see her go through all the pain. At times, hewished he could ease off her worries. She had been lately witnessing those nightmares and she would endup drying her tears all night.

Once her voice fainted, he spoke up hesitatingly, "Shar, are you okay?" He kissed the top of her head and gently slid his hands over. He knew it was stupid of him to ask a question like this. But he had to. She tilted her head, meeting his dark brown eyes with her own. He wanted to die. He had loved to be the only person who knew all shades of Sharon. The one to have witnessed all shades of hers, though he hated to see her this way. A broken, terribly shattered Sharon. He just couldn't help but hug her. She was in need of one. And the forehead kiss that he lovingly placed made her eyes shut. He sighed that she was now over-coming those nightmares. Though he had no clue what kind of a nightmare it was, her vulnerable state never gave him reason to ask about. All he wanted was His Sharon to be safe and secure.

He took her to bed and sat there besides her, holding her hand. Assuring her that he was going to be there for her. She tugged on to his arms and kept staring at him. Nothing felt more important to her than his presence. She couldn't tell him that she was scared. Maybe she would lose him as well. She had heard her office-mates expressing their sympathy for Swayam. They claimed Sharon, the person who would lose anyone she loved. Earlier she wasn't bothered because she had her mother to make things easier for her. But when she lost her, she had lost all her hopes. She had lost everyone she had loved, except for Swayam. She was terrified with the mere thought of losing him.
