Prologue

My name; well, that's not important. You'll know when the time comes. I'm a girl, of 15 years. My parents, brother and I live in a small house in Connecticut. We own a bakery, a successful bakery I must say, that has stood it's ground for generations. My father currently owns it, and because I'm the oldest, I'm the next owner. My great great grandparents moved to America when the first immigrants came through Ellis Island and stepped in American soil.

Every year, we used to have a family vacation at our lake house in Maine. The tradition started when my parents were teenagers. We've had so may memories there. One unfortunate day, something happened that changed our lives forever, and the lives of millions.
