Black, black, black. That's all I saw. Black, black, black. I thought my eyes were open. I felt around, hoping that I was in my lake house in bed, and had a bad dream. It was just my luck, because that's not where I was. I was sitting on a tattered couch, in a cramped room. I stood up, and tried to find the door, but when I found it, I was locked in from the outside. I tried to find the light, but that was useless too. The bulb blew as soon as I flicked the switch. There was no windows, but there was an opening in the wall, revealing the tiniest but of sunlight.
Just then, the door abruptly slammed open. The man stood about 6 and a half feet tall and had overalls on.
"What are you doing up you little bitch?" The man said with a rude tone.
"Uh, uh, uh..." I stumbled.
"Sit your ass down on the couch."
Without question, I did as he commanded. I knew I wasn't getting out anytime soon. The man peeked his head out the door before shutting it, pitch black surrounded us again. A tiny light came from a candle the man lit in the corner. He started walking towards me, and my heart dropped. The man sat next to me, and stared at me. I looked at the floor, not knowing what else to do.
"What's your name?" He asked.
"Tiffany" I lied. He didn't need to know my name, but I didn't want my head on a silver plate.
He didn't reply, but only stared at me. I never looked up from the floor, I didn't want to remember his face. Then, his hands wrapped around me, and he picked me up and threw me against the room like an angry gorilla. I sat in the corner, wiping the blood off of my face. He stormed out, slamming the door, leaving me with the light of a single candle. Oh, how I wished that candle was from my dining room table. With my family surrounding me, all eating dinner in the comfort of our home. I didn't know if I was ever going to experience that again.
