Day 1 | 10.15.17 | The Sanctuary
I was walking in a field of flowers. To my right there was the tree line of a forest.
The sun was shining and calm, puffy white clouds slowly rolled across the blue sky. I was able to see, smell and feel the flowers clearly and feel the warmth of the sun on my skin and it's bright rays when I looked in its direction.I walked across the meadow very slowly, just taking in my surroundings, until I saw a figure dressed in all white, loose garments. He was standing still until I reached him. The man greeted me with a smile and silently led me to a large stone wall.
In the middle of the wall was a wooden drawbridge door. It opened and the two of us stepped inside. A medium sized courtyard/sanctuary was revealed to me. In the middle of the place was a water fountain that had a slight gravel path around it, in the shape of a square.
There were only three walls that surrounded the Sanctuary, and also had an absence of a roof. Where there should have been a wall straight ahead of me, there was an open space that revealed a pond and scenery of trees and flowers and hills.
Everything I saw was sunny and bright. Everything, every leaf and flower, had bright color and a radiant hue. It was beautiful.Once inside, the man stepped by the door and stood there silently, letting me explore this new place. The man was very calm and serene, and I could tell he held no judgements. I was safe in this sanctuary and I was safe with him.
To my left, in the corner of the stone walls, there was a simple wooden bench, and next to that, a black stone water fountain/basin. I walked up to the black water structure and toouched it and examined it.
Looking at the water, I could even see my own reflection. After a few minutes of examining the water basin, I turned to walk to the small pond across the courtyard.Kneeling down besides it, I looked at the water. This time, into its depths instead of its surface.
Miraculously, I saw three floating planets under the water. The pond seemed to be a portal of sorts, since I could tell that the planets weren't technically underwater.
To clarify, there appeared to be about three inches of water, but underneath those three inches was vast space. In the space we're the planets.
Since I could kind of tell the pond was some sort of portal, I thought, "Nope," and stood from it, not touching it.I stood up from the edge of the pond, and instead of walking into its water, I turned around to shift my focus back to the man that led me here.
He still stood by the entrance of the sanctuary, now watching me with a comforting smile.
I walked over to him.The man appeared to be mute, or just wasn't much of a talker, so instead of asking him many questions I had, I simply offered him my hand.
He took my hand, and I was shocked at how much detail I could feel. He had calloused but smooth hands. As he took my hand, I guided him to the waterfall and the path that wrapped around it. We simply walked around this gravel trail slowly and silently, hand in hand.
Once we were about ¾ of the way around, the man stopped and gently spun me with the hand he was holding mine with. I twirled and he released me.At that moment, I became slightly confused and curious about the man even more. He didn't move to continue walking the path or to take me hand again. He just stood there, a look of peace still on his face.
Confused, I walked away towards the black water basin again to examine it once more. As I did so for a couple minutes, I kept glancing back at the man. He never moved. After a couple minutes, I walked back to the man. This time, he offered me his arm. I took it and he guided us back to the door of the wall. We stepped outside back in the meadow.
Only a few steps away from the sanctuary, we stopped walking.
I got the hint that it was my time to leave.Turning to face each other, we prepared to say goodbye for the time being. We were silent and still for a while, staring at each other, until we both bowed to each other and I departed and woke up.
