It was almost dark and Andrion was now the worst planner Terra had ever met.
They had stopped in a tiny, hamlet of a place for lunch and Andrion barely had enough elots (That's the currency here as Andrion had explained) to pay for the both of them. He also didn't think to pack any food. His excuse was that he thought she had money, of course she didn't have money! She had only learned that Cardist was a place two days ago and you think she knows the currency! This guy was an idiot, how had he lived sixteen years?
So they spent the night hungry and cold because Mr. Einstein hadn't brought blankets either. It was a sleepless night for both of them.
Terra was already awake when Andrion finally regained consciousness.
"Morning." Terra said grumpily, she had barely gotten any sleep.
"Sorry," Andrion apologized. "I wasn't thinking when we left."
"Understatement," Terra snorted. "So where are we going next?"
"You tell me, you're the one leading."
Terra stared at him in pure hatred. "I was following you!" She screamed.
"What?!"
"You are such an idiot! You expect me to lead when I only found out this was a place two days ago, and you think I know EVERYTHING!"
"I'm so sorry." Andrion whispered.
"You better be! Now we're lost, broke, and we have no idea where to start looking for Caden."
Terra rubbed her face, she was so angry at this idiot. She rested her head on a nearby tree, this day was giving her a headache.
She peered at the bark of the tall tree, it was the closest thing to a redwood in this world. It was almost identical except for the leaves, they were lavender purple.
then she noticed a mark on the tree just over her head, it looked like it had been burned on.
A
It was the fanciest A Terra had ever seen, Andrion noticed her looking at the tree and came over. His mouth dropped when he saw it.
"Ace." Andrion said fearfully.
"What's Ace?" Terra asked, very confused.
"A 'supposed to be secret' organization that wants to destroy Cardist and everyone in it, we need to go!"
"Wait." Terra put her hand on the symbol, it started to fade. when it was completely gone a hole opened up in the tree. Terra started to climb in.
"What are you doing?!" Andrion whispered angrily.
"I think I met one of them, I want to see if I'm right."
"You would be dead if you met one of them, they want to kill everyone."
But Terra was already defending the redwood stairs inside the tree. Andrion being the coward he was stayed outside.
Terra couldn't see anything in the tree, it was quite dark. Until she reached what she assumed was an underground bunker, there were three black leather arm chairs and one was filled.
The lady sitting there was tall, really tall. She must have been almost seven feet, she looked like a half giant, if giants were more beautiful that humans. Her hair was in a loose ponytail, strands had fallen loose on both sides framing her face. It looked dirty blond right now but it ever so slowly changed through all the natural colours of hair. Her skin was light brown, not quite Asian but not African either, it was a strange but beautiful mix of the two. Her eyes changed just like her hair which was slowly changing to strawberry blonde while her eyes were the same tone as her skin and getting darker.
