What Does depression look like?
Depression looks like my mess room,
Littered with empty bottles
and the clothes I've been meaning to wash for a month or so.
Depression looks like the food I eat
In place of a meal.
The half cooked
uncooked
almost burnt ramen for dinner
The protein bar I eat half of for breakfast
The apple I tried to eat for lunch.
What does depression look like?
Depression looks like my messy hair
That's been unbrushed for two days.
Unwashed for three.
The knotted bird's nest
that sits on my baggy eyes,
My droopy, unfazed eyes.
The beautiful color maybe,
hopefully,
possibly,
that someone loves,
Stuck in my head.
The meadow green, the chesnut brown, that dot someone loved.
That vein that was just a little too close to my meadow.
Someone stared into.
Someone stared into.
someone stared into.
Someone
Stared
Into.
That's what depression looks like.
Derailed poems and unliked,
used to liked,
forgotten,
dead,
sad eyes.
