--Chapter 4--
~ 4 Months Later ~
"Ughh." I groaned as I laid my head down on the conference table. I was having a very bad day. Akashi had left for a Shogi International Contest, but not before he officially gave me the Coach Assistant Role. I sighed.
"Ooo, Ne-Chan, What's today's training menu~?" Reo bounded up to me and asked me excitedly. Oh, another thing I forgot. I groaned.
"I left the menu plan at home. And besides, can't Wagatsuma make one up?" This was another part of my bad day. Akashi had also signed Sachi up for Pre-Coach Assitant. She wasn't doing anything but flashing her fake eyelashes and applying make up. I decided to change that.
"Oi, Wa'gas'uma, make up today's training menu." I slammed my hand on the table her lipstick was on, making it roll off the table.
[A/N: I removed a 't' off of Wagatsuma for you know... Name calling. :D ]
"What? I thought that was the Coach Assist job." She stated dumbly, rolling her eyes.
"The paper clearly says that you have to fill in my job if I leave, even if it's temporarily."
She clenched her teeth before pulling her hair back into a messy bun and snorted.
"Fine." She replied in a snobby fashion, which ticked me off a little. Let's see her try and fail, I thought excitedly to myself. I gestured for Reo and Kotarō to privately speak to me. When they were close enough, I whispered in a hushed tone.
"If she trips up, don't hesitate to snitch on her and tell me."
I forced myself to say those words. After all, I knew they wouldn't see me around anymore.
They made a salute sign and nodded sternly. I smiled briefly, the smile reaching my eyes.
"Thanks guys. I'll be back soon."
They didn't question where I was going, which only made it a bit more easier. I stiffened back my tears and folded my fingers neatly into a fist and clenched my hand. I'm sorry, guys. But I'm going to have to betray.
~ Next Day ~
I finished clearing 'Ko-Ko-Tarō' A.K.A Kotarō's contact off my iPhone. It wrenched my heart but I sighed and move onto the pictures. Pictures of us and countless victories. Countless memories. Countless joy.
I slid my finger across the screen, and deleted them all. I had no more time for this. I had to follow the bet.
The bet? Yes, the bet. I had made a deal with a certain Tanned Blue. The deal was simple: Get Akashi to play in the first quarter. But it just happened that Akashi was called to a matter of consequence meeting in America.
Or at least that's what he called it. In return, I was to transfer. Now don't get me wrong, I didn't prefer one school over another, but they knew I was a potential Coach. I had helped knuckle and lead them.
Now, I strapped my luggage into the limo's trunk and tucked strands of my auburn red hair away from my eyes before stepping inside the car. The driver asked the location.
"Where to, Miss. Jin?"
He called me formally by my last name. It was a while since I heard my surname being called. I have him a simple answer in reply.
"Tōō Academy."
