William of Northguard managed to reunite the Kingdom of Aquantos and expanded its territory to include the Kingdom of Northguard.  Keeping the name Aquantos, King William focused on expanding even more.  He reclaimed territories lost to the Earth, pushing as far south as the Emerald Mountains, which are located just north of Zem.

William was known as the Golden King.  He made the kingdom wealthy and prosperous.  He rebuilt cities and roads, focused on the education system, and created more jobs.  He revived the old philosophies of King Edmund the Wise; scholars, philosophers, thinkers, scribes, engineers, and astronomers made their home in Aquantos, while William's military bases were centered around Northguard, which would be a military center for centuries to come.

Bridges were built, castles constructed, and trade flourished.  The kingdom expanded far into the north, and the fishing city of Awrak was established, and was a popular tourist destination, as it was covered in intricate glaciers.  The poorest citizens of the kingdom would be considered wealthy by modern standards; it was said that the stones in the roads of Aquantos and Northguard were paved with gold.

It was literally a Golden Age.

For sixty six years, William of Northguard ruled, until he died a peaceful death at the age of 83, which was unheard of for the time.  His son, William II, kept his father's legacy.  The only notable thing he did was increase the size of the military.

William II died after a 5 year reign.  He and his wife were victims of a plague that claimed over ten thousand souls.  William II's son, William III, rose to the throne as king.

William III wasn't a very popular king.  His thirteen year reign saw the Earth regain much of their territory, pushing the Aquantians back to the River of Poseidon in the Decade Long War.  Much of the kingdom's wealth was lost as cities were sacked, merchant ships ambushed and sunk, and expensive wars led to heavy taxation.  The King moved the royal family to the cit of Kingstown after his palace in Aquantos was ransacked by a mob of angry peasants.  He attempted to flee the kingdom and leave for the Air Kingdom, but was captured, charged with treason, and executed.  The Kingdom of Aquantos entered its Second Dark Age.
