Chapter 1 || Peachy Feels

The sweet warmth of summer prancing on my skin as I dance about on the fresh green grass. Finally, the long awaiting release I've been craving for practically all of my life.
Graduation.

As I'm lost in my mind full of ecstatic visions of adulthood I'm suddenly tackled onto the ground.
I look up to see chocolate hair covering an ashen face.

The strangers hand maneuvers their hair out of their face and I see that it is none other than my best friend Yvonne.

"Penny we're free! We're adults now!" She screams into my ear.

I squeeze her as best as I can and laugh until I'm gasping for air,
"I can't believe we were able to do this together" I breathlessly say.

She gets off of me and helps me to my feet. She gives me one of her most charming smiles and pulls me in for a tight hug.

"We're in this together remember? Or have you forgotten who your best friend for basically all of your life is?"

I couldn't help but chuckle, of course I couldn't forget the biggest pain in my butt.

We stood there embracing one another, tears streaming down our eyes as we recall memories from our childhood.
Suddenly we're interrupted by Yvonnes family letting her know that it was time to go. We finally let go of each other after what seems like ages and regretfully begin to go our separate ways, but before I could walk away Yvonne gives me one last smile and and mouths out

"We made it."

Before walking off with her family by her side.

I spin on my heel and begin to head to my car with an extra bounce in my walk. This feeling of accomplishment is empowering and I'm loving every second of it. The adrenaline running through my veins as I say my final goodbyes to high school and say my hellos to a new life.

Who knows what's in store for me, all I know is that this is going to be one hell of an adventure.
