Epilogue: Her Return

After the heart touching scenery, the team head to their temporary inn. Lucy laughed at Natsu's unknown joke from the background, as the others took their time glancing at Lucy, ever so often, hoping it wasn't another illusion.

Lucy noticed them and curved her lips into a faint loving smile, as the wind blew her hair into place. "Guys. Do not worry. It is not an illusion." She spike, emphasizing the word 'not'.

The group smiled in return, signaling Lucy that they are assured. They then, head to their inn with the sound of chatting and laughter.

"And then, Gray~sama-" Gray quickly covered Juvia's mouth. "Okie dokie. No talkie and let's go to our room, roomie!" Gray exclaimed, clearly annoyed but very pleased he'll be alone with Juvia. As the two soon-to-be-lovers, walk into the distance, Lucy stood dumbfounded.

"Believe it or not, Gray is acting rather protected of dear Juvia." Carla said in her collected voice.
"Right? I wish I had something like that~" Wendy said with a sigh.

"Not so fast, child. You are underage." Carla scolded the bluenette. Lucy smiled. "What are you smiling about, Lu-nee?" Asked Lissana.

Lucy's eyes widen in surprise. "Lu....nee?" Lissana realized her words and cupped her red face in embarrassment. "I-I'm sorry." She stuttered. Lucy smiled. "It's fine. But why'd ya call me that?" Lucy questioned the silver haired soul mage.

Lissana twirled her hair in embarrassment. "Well.... Ever since I saw you, I wanna.... Be your little sister.." Lissana answered, looking down, doubting Lucy will not accept after the pain Lissana unknowingly bestowed on her.

Lucy on the other hand, is very joyful. "Of course! I always wanted a little sister!" Tears started to coat Lissana's crystal blue eyes. "Really? Arigatou!" Lissana threw herself in Lucy's arms. The two sisters-by-hearts giggled.

The whole group soon came to the inn. The girls (especially Mira) silently screamed as they saw the ice and water mage, snuggle up to each other in their room.

After that, everyone head into bed, fast asleep, except two. The door creaked as a certain dragon slayer opened it, revealing a wide awake Lucy in a chair. Her brown orbs met his onyx eyes. "Natsu..."

"Can't sleep?" The blond teen nodded. Silence came upon the two as they stared down the floor.

"Natsu... About the confession. I'm sorry. I know you don't feel the same but I won't give up-"

"I love you..." He blurted. "Exactly what I said, I- wait what?" Lucy stared at him, clearly shocked.

"I love you, Lucy. Ever since the day we met. I was too dense to noticed! But... In a while I realized... I was too late. That's why I was so glad when-" Lucy cut him off by kissing him. Lucy was now sobbing. "Natsu. I'm so glad you feel the same, I was too scared-"

Natsu hugged her tightly. "Shhhh. Its ok, Luce. I'm here."

"I love you, Luce."

"I love you, too. Natsu..."

A couple of hours in the spirit realm later.....

The team, stood in front of the tall gates that leads to fairy tail. "Are you ready, Lucy?" Asked Erza. Lucy nodded, eyes determined, and face showing confidence. Natsu held her hand as he smile. "Let's go, then."

The doors opened, revealing the depressed guild members. Their eyes landed on Lucy. Tears began to well up in their eyes. Lucy's cheeks was already covered with joyous tears. A grin plastered on her pale delicate face. "I'm back!"

"LUCY" Everyone exclaimed in rejoicing harmony. Lucy saw that these were the people she loved most.

People who does not go after fame and pride...

People who welcomes everyone with open arms...

The ones with goofy grins always on their face...

The ones who sees you as who you are....

The ones who are her true family....

After exchange of tears and laughter, they prepared a part just for Lucy. Mira and surprisingly Laxus starts to sing No promises.

Natsu and Lucy starts to dance till the near end of the music.

"Lucy?" Natsu spoke. "Yea?"

"I promise I'll be on your side forever."

"I know I said this before but now I'm serious." "Natsu.."

"Lucy Heartfillia, I promise with all my heart, soul, and being that I will be with you, forever and beyond."

Natsu knelt on one knee and showed Lucy a fresh ruby engagement ring. Lucy's eyes widen. "please. Marry me!"

Lucy kissed him deeply and lovingly. "Yes."
