Morty's POV

I stared at (Y/N)'s lifeless body just laying on the bed. Summer stood next to me and surprisingly she wasn't buried in her phone. (Y/N) stirred a little and went limp again, I looked out into the lobby where mom was talking to the receptionist, dad was playing on his dumb tablet. Rick didn't come with us which was why were were at a stupid hospital on Earth when there are hospitals all over the universe that could heal her within minutes but Rick had to be a heartless dick and not come. It had been a few days and everyday we'd drive out to see her, not Rick.

"H-Hey! She's starting to move more! I think she's waking up!" Summer exclaimed, grabbing my wrist so I'd pay attention, I saw her start to try to open her eyes with little success.

Your POV

"H-Hey! She's starting to move more! I think she's waking up!" I heard Summer cheer, everything ached and I couldn't see, 'I swear to god, I better not be in a hospital.' I thought to myself. There were beeping machines around me which was annoying, I was definitely in a hospital. I struggled to open my eyes but after a little bit finally got them half open.

 "Oh thank God she's alright!"

"Hey guys, what's all the fuss about? Why am I in the hospital?" I asked, this better be good.

"(Y/N) (L/N), You had something that we weren't quite sure what it should be called, you had a heart failure due to some emotional damage that you clearly couldn't handle so your heart shut down. You were lucky to live through that." A doctor said, walking in. How could that even be possible? Sure emotional trauma isn't good for you but to make my heart actually stop working?

"I-Is Rick here?" I asked, Morty bit his lip and shook his head, I sighed and turned my head to the side. Why did I even waste a thought thinking Rick would show up, he was the one who caused this whole fucking thing! A sharp pain shot through my chest, I yelped in pain as I clutched the area where my heart was, the Smiths stared at me with panic in their eyes. Except Jerry, he was playing on his tablet, fuck you Jerry.

"What's wrong?" Summer asked, picking up my hand and feeling my pulse, "Sorry, I should've warned you about that... Every once in a while you'll probably feel a pain that might feel like stabbing, hopefully it'll stop in a few days." The doctor explained, I rolled my eyes, 'Thanks a lot for telling me sooner you fuckin prick.'.

Rick's POV

I stared at the wall with my hand against my temple, alcohol dripped down my face. Why were they so worked up over her? Dumb emotions, caring about people.

Maybe I should be there...

Wait, no. You broke her, she probably hates you now.

Not that you care or anything like that...
