Stiles POV:
"What the hell is wrong with me?" I said out loud to myself. It was Christmas and I was granted to come back home for a week, I thought I would be completely stress free but this wasn't the case. This was my third nightmare in a row these past few days and it didn't look like it would stop anytime soon. I rolled out of the bed I shared with my wife and checked my watch and it was 8:00 am on Christmas morning. I was about to go look outside the window until I heard the soft whimper of my infant daughter, Mavis. Her crying grew louder but, once I finally got to her she calmed down, my wife y/n) came rushing over to me as I picked up Mavis from the crib and asked me "Drew are you sure you don't want me to take her so you can lay back down?" I looked down at her and said quietly "n-no...I'm fine" I think she could see that I was in distress and finally said "honey, go lay down, I'll deal with her. I will come get you when my family comes." I froze dead in my tracks and turned around and said "uh you're family is coming? I don't think that's the best idea." She looked at you confused and asked "why not?" I didn't want them coming over because one her parents had never liked me at all and at one Holiday party her father punched me in the face! So there was no way in hell they are coming. I leaned against the crib and said " No god forbid something happens and they hurt Mavis! Just no please no!" I had no idea what was happening to me, I slid down from the crib and put my face into my hands and began to cry. (Y/N) ran over to me and rubbed my back and said " Drew honey my family would never hurt Mavis and they have a lot of respect for you for joining the army. So please sweetie don't think things like that." I looked up at her with tears in my eyes and whispered "I can't help it, I just feel like someone is going to hurt us and I don't know what to do and it's just a big mess!" She took my head and let me lay my head and said softly " Drew Stiles you are the bravest man I've ever met in my life and I have no doubt that if someone were to hurt us that you would take care of the immediately. But, right now this isn't the case so baby don't worry about that. You're home now, you're with me." I looked up at her and we got off the floor only to hear the doorbell rang. I rushed to the door only to find my in laws standing there with cheerful smiles on their faces. (Y/N)'s father who I wasn't technically on good terms with walked up to me and took me into a hug and smiled "welcome home son." Surprisingly the night went way better than I thought it would and I miraculously was stress free. I know that these nightmares and scares I have won't go away easy but today's deal was a great leap forward in the right direction.
