I woke up to the most annoying alarm clock that could ever exist.

"Narwhals narwhals swimming in the ocean- causing a commotion, 'cause they are so awesome! Narwhals-"

I slammed my hand on the snooze button and turned over to try to catch another five minutes before I had to get up for school. But before I knew it...

"Narwhals narwhals-" I groaned, turning my alarm off again, Rolling off the bed and hitting the floor with a thump. (It's a bad habit of mine.)

I stood up and put on the butterfly necklace my dad gave me for my fifth birthday. At 14, I was surprised it still fit. But I wasn't complaining. I trudged over to the radiator and pulled on my school uniform. I loved keeping my clothes on the radiator because they were super warm the next day. Standing in the mirror, I adjusted my tie and put on my shoes. I then proceeded to brush my hair. A lot of people called it "Emo Hair" for no reason at all. Yes, because a black side swept fringe automatically makes me 'emo'. Anyway, I applied some hairspray to keep it in place. I grabbed my bag and made sure everything was in it and then made my way down the stairs.

"Hi mom!" I greeted.
"Hi, honey," she replied. "I made scrambled eggs and bacon!"
"Awesome!" I celebrated. "My favourite."

I had a biology test today, so I sat at the table with some notes to cram in some last minute revision. But the smell of bacon radiated my senses and I couldn't concentrate. I dug into my breakfast and then headed upstairs to brush my teeth. After that, I grabbed my coat.

"Bye, mom!" I called.
"Bye, Hun!" She replied.

And as I shut the door, I started walking towards hell-school.

--------------------

I arrived at the gate and all the cherry blossom leaves had fallen off the now empty trees. Autumn. Everything seems to die in that season...

I put up the hood on my jacket so that hopefully no-one noticed me. The plan worked and I got into the building unnoticed. Then, I grabbed my books from my locker and headed straight to registration.

A long day was ahead.
