As soon as the bell rang I was out the door.
Levi hadn't said a word all class, even when the teacher asked, and everyone had just laughed like they thought he was stupid.
But I knew better.

None of the rumours were true about him except that he was mysterious and weird.
People said he was stupid, but he had straight A's in every class. People said he was violent, yet I've seen him beat people up only to make them stop bulling people.
They say he's gay, yet he's never interacted with anyone.

My second class I had with Armin and Jean Kirstein. Eren hates him for reasons I don't understand, and Jean hates him right back, but to be honest he's a good guy when he isn't around Eren.
I sat down beside Armin, thanking god I had a smart friend with me in Math.
The last bell before class was about to go when I saw Levi, my heart faltered and for a second we made eye contact, before I hurriedly looked away, my heart racing. I didn't understand why I was so timid to look at him, normally I wasn't that meek, but...
"Hello, (Y/n)." Came a quiet greeting, the voice was sharp, cold. Just like his eyes.
It was Levi.

My head snapped up and I look at him in shock, he didn't look back or stop, and he had already passed me and sat in the back, as soon as he did, he looked at me and maintained eye contact.
His eyes trapped mine and I couldn't look away. I waved a small wave at him, and he looked away, releasing mine.

"Did Levi...say hi to you?" Armin asked me in awe. Armin thought Levi was interesting, but he didn't have the courage to speak to him, like me. But we had different reasons for being afraid.
Looking at him made me hyper aware of my cuts and extra self conscious.
I nod in answer, shocked.
"Yeah, he did.." I murmur and Armin gapes at me.
"What? That freak spoke to you?" Jean asked incredulously.
I pursed my lips and frown at him.
"He is not a freak.." I mutter, angry.
"Yes he is, he isn't like you or me." He retorts.
"It would be very difficult to be you." I snap, but he takes it the wrong way.
"Thanks." He says, puffing out his chest.
I open my mouth to get angrier when Armin shakes his blonde head at me,
"Don't, just leave it." He whispers fearfully. I bite my lip and sigh, turning to glance at Levi.

He's staring straight at me, his eyes a softer looking metal in shock, they look like molten iron.
I blush and look away, the class had long started and I'm surprised he had heard me defend him.
I don't regret defending him though, and I would do it again.
