As the morning sun rose on the seemingly dismal day, my heart rose with it. I was just turning of age for the finding ceremony. In only a couple of hours my little wooden box will arrive with all my letters. The letters that conceal my fate, the letters that hopefully make the rest of my life completely happy and care free.
In the society there are three sectors. There are the Singles, the Lovers and the Families. We all abide by the same rules but each sector can add its own laws and rules. The society revolves around one common interest. Relationships. The Singles have chosen to be forever alone but flirt shamelessly and have endless flings , but nothing serious, just because they belive love is overrated and is just for a night anyways. Lovers are the people that are always in pairs, they are supposedly in love. They are connstantly together and as soon as they turn 21 they are permitted to have one child, but only one. That was a law added by the sector itself. Finally we have Families. My parents belong to this sector. We belive in friendship. My parents have never been in love but they have been best friends sice before they can remember. They always saw a life together (as friends) and having children just sort of happened along the way. So yes I am part of families. In families you are permitted one to three children but that is it. No more. I guess we are called Families because the whole sector are best friends like a massive family.
In only a few hours, I would make my decision forever. Singles, Lovers or Family and I just don't think I will be able to deciede.
