Epilogue
Loneliness, it gets the best of us. We all would do anything to not be alone, to feel that empty pit filled once more. My empty heart will always be locked behind a cage. We can never be satisfied because that pit will always be empty no matter how hard you try. I have to live with that for the rest of my life and all I can do is hide behind a mask.

Chapter One
"Come on! Hurry up we're going to miss it!"
"I'm trying, wait for me Red!" Said the turtle, falling behind Red's shiny blue tail.
Red hauled to a stop, her silver gray hair covering her view of the vast sea before her. She quickly tucked her hair behind her ears and searched. She grew anxious, they usually are out during this time of day, she thought.
"Did they show up yet!?"
"T! Quiet down you will scare them off!" Whispered Red.
They both hid behind the rock and patiently waited for the beautiful beasts. The sea was silent for quite a while until a loud shriek broke the barrier. The big blue swam upwards to the surface past T and Red, almost knocking them over. It made a huge splash back into its home, to its family in the distance. The calve yearned for her mother to return. The mother came back to her baby making sure it was safe and happy.
Red had never seen something so beautiful no matter how many times she had seen them, she could not get enough. She wish she had a family like that. Speaking of family, Red had to return home, dreading the thought of seeing her step mother. Red always came out to this spot to get away from her and feel free. No matter how many times she came to that spot she still felt trapped. Her stepmother took everything and everyone she loved. Her father had become crazy and ruthless from all the corruption she had done. Red tried to get her father back, but red became further and further from her father's memory. Her home was a place of peace and harmony, but that was all destroyed when Irvana came in the picture. Peace turned into chaos and freedom was lost, no one was safe without the protection of Red's father. Her people could no longer depend on her father, they had to defend themselves. Red was determined to get her father and her kingdom back no matter the cost.
Red and T had taken the shortcut home, but swam slowly trying to relish in the freedom she had until she arrived. They swam cautiously trying not to get caught in the seaweed; yet another creature turned evil. Within the chaos merfolk and the things of the sea had turned to Irvana's side, thinking they were powerless and had no other choice. Not all had turned to her side though, some had hidden away and would do anything for their princess.
"Hey T do you think we should stop by the shelter?" Nothing, but silence echoed back "T?"
Red slowly turned around to see T trapped by the seaweed, its toils wrapped around her flippers and her mouth. She quickly looked for a sharp shell on the sea ground, but could not find a single one. So Red had no choice, but to attack the creature with her teeth. She ripped through the strands of seaweed killing it instantly while trying not to get caught up in seaweed herself. It shrieked a high pitch scream as if nails were being scratched on a chalkboard, but Red would give no mercy to the monster. All she could focus on was freeing her friend and a ting of guilt that was buried deep inside her on how she was killing an innocent life that once was beautiful and lively; was once her friend. Red had finally got the wraps of seaweed off T, she was trembling from the fears that came about from them. The seaweed doesn't just trap you, it shows an illusion of your biggest fears, trying to numb the pain of death awaiting you.
"T are you okay?!" said Red rubbing T's back trying to comfort her knowing well enough she was not okay. T gave a blank stare in response trembling in terror of what she saw. Red didn't know what else to do, so she suggested to head back home to the shelter where she would be safe. Red grabbed T in her arms stroking her head trying to calm her down on the way to the shelter. T started to cry softly trying not to worry Red too much.
"Shh T it is going to be okay, you're in my arms no one or nothing is going to hurt you. You are safe now," Red's voice ringed in T's ears and became distant as Red slowly faded into black.

"T? Please open your eyes, you need to wake up!" Red's heart was throbbing from the pain of her only true friend dieing, the only one that wasn't under her stepmother's spell "You're all I have left," She whispered as one tear leaked down her cheek.
"Your highness I am sorry, but your going to have to step back and give your friend some space," Said the woman who is going to help T "She doesn't have much time left we have to drain the fear out of her before it completely consumes her," Right after she said that, T's body started to seize on the flat boulder, she let out a high pitched screech, it rang out throughout the cavern.
Fear grew in Red's eyes, she knew her friend was going to die it was just a matter of time.
T could see everything, she even shouted to Red, but she could not hear her. She needed to let Red know that she would be okay, but the words would not come out of her mouth. T could feel the life draining out of her, her eyes becoming heavy. She fighted to stay awake as hard as she could, but she couldn't fight it anymore. The pain was too much for her to bare, she let out one last breath before it was all over.
