I walk home alone. As usual. I stand on the side walk and watch the busses pass. As they I by, I catch a glimpse of Aidan waving at me. First bus. Olivia's bus. Huh. Poor guy.
I walk down the street to my house. Not hard to see. It sticks out like a sore thumb. I open the door and mumble a quick hello to my family. They mumble back. We aren't a very verbal family. And when we are on of us is getting embarrassed or pissed off.
I walk into my room and drop my back pack. I flop down on my bed, grab my phone, and dial Olivia's number. After a few rings, she picks up.
"Hello?" She answers excitedly.
"Hey. It's me," I say.
"I figured."
"So you know the new kid?" I ask her.
"Yeah. He's cool! He rides my bus. What about him?" She relies.
"Well, he's really nice. He stood up to Jake for me. Brave son if a bitch!" I say, starting my rant.
********
After we got off the phone it was 9:00. I threw the phone across the room and went to sleep.

I walk into band the next day and sit down with my instrument. All I have to do is act normal.
"Hi!" Aidan says. "How was your day?"
"Pretty good you?"
"Good!" He says flashing me a smile.
"I told you she doesn't shut up!" Cheyenne says leaning over me to talk to Aidan. I see him roll his eyes. I quietly giggle.
I hear him mumble, "she talk a hell of a lot less than you!"
"Hmm?" Chey questions.
"Nothing," Aidan says looking at me, chuckling as I stifle my laughter.
"What's so funny?" She asks Aidan.
"Just... Nothing."
"That's a lie!" She says flirtatious to the max! "What was so funny?"
"Nothing."
"Liar! What was it?"
"None of your business! It was between me and Aspen!" He groans.
"Dang! Upset much?" She says pushing her luck.
"Chey, stop. Leave him alone so you don't get hurt." I say as serious as I can.
The bell rings just as she starts to say something to me. Haha! Saved by the bell!
I walk out into the hall and get shoved into Aidan by Jake.
"Watch it klutz!" Jake laughs.
"Back off jackass!" Aidan yells.
"Make me!" Jake snarls.
I don't know what happens. I just hear the impact of Aidan's fist on Jake's jaw.
"Was that good enough? Or do I need to make you again?" Aidan hisses. Jake whimpers and walks away quickly.
Aidan turns to me. "Are you okay? He pushed you pretty hard," he asks concerned.
"I'm more worried about him."
"Don't be. If he dies, you won't have any trouble with him. If he lives, you won't have any trouble with him. If you do end up having trouble with him, just tell me and I'll take care of him."
"Thanks!" I say slightly blushing.
"Sure thing ba--Aspen." He says. He immediately blushes and walks away.
Did he almost call me babe?
