To Jisoo, Seokjin is the living embodiment of the first of the seven deadly sins.
She's never seen a man scarf down so much food in one sitting (though she's glad they always get more than their money's worth at buffets) and not gain a single pound despite his loathing for physical exercise. Nobody has ever used "Seokjin" and "full" in the same sentence unless "never" was sandwiched in between (not to stretch point but they were Taehyung's exact words as they watched Seokjin eat a sandwich).
Yet there's something endearing about watching him eat. Unlike most mindless gluttons who ate food faster than their taste buds could process, Seokjin savours and comments on every new things he eats as he encourages his girlfriend to follow suit. He's always updated on the newest restaurants, the finest meats at the grocery store, and ticks them off on his wishlist every time he finally convinces Jisoo to go.
And at the most unexpected times, just for a moment, he would stop eating in the midst of their dinner dates. Jisoo's chopsticks hover slightly adjacent to her mouth when her eyes catch a glimpse of his intent ones, eyeing her dreamily. "What?" she mutters.
"Keep going."
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"I want to watch you eat."
Her face tints a faint pink. "Why?"
"You just look... really cute when you eat. I like knowing that you're eating well is all." For a moment, his eyes wander down to his own plate, hesitantly nipping his lower lip. He's afraid he may have made things awkward, unaware of how Jisoo's heart nearly skips a beat at his honesty. It's his strange, quirky way of saying he loves her, of saying he hopes she takes care of herself despite her busy schedules.
Quietly, she begins to eat again and pretends not to see the relieved look on his face as his eyes flicker up to her face. She bites the end of her chopstick to stop herself from smiling too at the way his eyes crinkle into crescents at how happy he looks. For the first time in a while, he thinks, just watching her like this fills him more than any meal ever had.
Seokjin is truly a glutton - wanting more than he can handle.
"Jin-ah, I can't breathe. You're holding me too tight," she whispers, breath fanning out across the side of his neck.
"Sorry," he replies softly, loosening his grip around her waist and letting her shift into a more comfortable position beneath the sheets. His kisses are firm and needy, but he holds back enough to let her know that no matter how much he wants, needs her, he'd never push her to her limit.
At times like this, he feels like he'll never get enough of her. Time never feels like a great enough measure of his longing for her to be with him - just like this, undisturbed and unwavering. He doesn't want to think about tomorrow - the tomorrow where he's alone again, desperately filling the gaping emptiness she leaves behind.
The life of a glutton is so full, yet so empty.
