The Greatest Scheme

Chasing things that God would not allow us to have is the worst tragedy in life.

No matter how desperately you try to achieve, no matter how much you pray, with only betting to the impossible as the only hope is one of the ways that will eventually lead to destruction.

You know that it may lead to ruin, know that it will surely lead to dire consequences, and yet, with the greedy craving on mind, do it anyways.

That's why many had fallen. That's why many had became a legend; for legends are myths made from fragments of history that ended in misery and despair.

Like the legendary story of Romeo and Juliet. Of their tale in which they suffer greatly and sacrifice dearly, only to truly achieve their happiness through death; through dying in each other's arms. As how can you continue to live if the one reason you are fighting is gone?

And like them, until now, we still commit this act of lunacy.

All for the sake of wishing to achieve the impossible. All to achieve our dreams. . .for dreams are so powerful that they can change the hereafter.

Dreams gave people a goal, an ample of fortunes, of opportunities turned into success---and pain, for daring to hope for something or someone they are not meant to be with.

People may never realize this, but dreams are akin to a double-edged sword, for it can cause people to feel the euphoria of bliss and the grievious agony of torment at the same time.

Yet we never learn. As this world never lacks in people who would even choose to die for their dreams.

Oh, humans. Since the ancient times, they always challenge the inevitable.

And in this world, the most painful thing to happen was the torture of wanting and not get, even after plotting a thousand schemes.

"Look and stare at him, Aminah. Look and realize how this madness is turning into insanity. Feel the pain of chasing someone who will never reciprocate the intensity of your devotion." he whispered ruthlessly as his hand gripped my wrist, his breathe in my ears, his eyes, settling in the pair of a young man and woman as we stare at them.

As if scripted by fate, the place we are within is perfectly contrasting to them. Whereas we were in a place almost devoid of light, the couple we are seeing are surrounded with a picturesque scene of an oak tree in the sea of amapola and chrysanthemum flowers. With the mood of the setting sun and the ambiguous atmosphere of melancholy, it truly is the perfect scene made out of a fairytale with a happily ever after as the ending.

Too bad a villainous wretch like me is here to wreck havoc to that poor unfortunate couple.

"Perceive the lunacy of tightly grasping someone who was never been yours, never mind ruthlessly stole." he continued like a devil, but unlike one, what he is telling me was the bitter truth, not the sweet lies I never wish were true.

I was never one who believes in sweet nothings like a cute and naive bunny.

Maaga akong namulat na masakit manampal ang realidad, and the prettier the lie is, the more it hurts.

I smiled as I saw the young man's face. That face whose every inch I've already memorized, whose every angle I've already committed to my mind.

To my heart.

I will never let go of that. Masaktan na ang masaktan, madurog na ang dapat madurog pero akin siya.

''You may fucking have everything, but that doesn't mean you can get anything."
