A childhood friendship blossoming into a touching romance is a prospect that appeals to many. Years and years of shared joy, laughter, sorrow and comfort laying foundation for an equally ── if not more ── loving relationship; just the idea of it warms the heart.

But if anyone asked Dean or Aisha, it wasn't as much of blossoming as it was tumbling down multiple sets of stairs and waiting to see where they'd come to stop.

Brick-by-brick the two had built up their relationship on the foundation of their friendship ── from the hearty laughters and endless conversations, to the heavy sorrows and the shared secrets ── the pair were together through it all. They found comfort in the other when they needed it the most, a warm presence that just seemed to make everything a little bit better.

Unseen, unspoken, the love blooming within them was not noticed by either. Not until it had grown to be something undeniably real. Both chalked it up as friendly affection, not wanting to admit that it could possibly be something more.

But it was so much more. And when they finally came to terms with the truth, both stood hesitant at opposite sides of the wall of their relationship, afraid to scale it for the fear that one wrong step may make it come crashing down. After all, love in midst of war had never been an easy feat.

Desperate to seal their fate with a kiss, both struggle to pull themselves out of their predicament, popularly known as being, 'friend zoned.'
