Prologue
For Sauliha Ahmeedi, Allah has never been near.
The countless days, the tedious nights- her sporadic longing has taken a toll on her heart.
Some say she's lost the ability to speak.
But Sauliha speaks to her best friend, Tatheer.
Others swear she's been recently exorcised, and the shock of a ghost possessing her body has rendered her deaf.
But Sauliha hears their rumors quite well and can only smile.
Tatheer Ruhbaan, the only living girl to have befriended the accused, upon being interviewed tirelessly, says it's a different feeling.
"So what's up with her?" a girl asks skeptically, glancing at the lost girl. The crowd murmurs behind her and rudely observe the prey.
Sauliha snaps out of her reverie and leaves the scene, walking silently towards the campus.
Tatheer stares at her retreating back and sighs. "When her heart bleeds for Him, she spirits away."
