past.

Two weeks. It has been two weeks since I've seen Harry. I wasn't ignoring him and he wasn't ignoring me, but somehow I still miss seeing him. Midterms were coming up and everyone was on edge. We all knew what this meant. A schedule of studying and testing before the winter break commenced. Despite filling my head with knowledge that I would probably not remember in a few days I still thought of that night at the museum and how Harry's persona changed before my very eyes. What was once a jerk exterior melted into that of a genuinely nice guy.

"Ok I'm probably not coming back tonight. There's another party some I'm getting laid tonight!" Gemma cheers leaving the room. "Love you Charlotte."

"Love you Gems." I call as I look at the clock. It was pretty late already and I've been studying for what felt close to five hours. "I think that's it for the night."

I close my textbooks and turn off my desk lamp before climbing into my bed. I'm mentally drained. I closed my eyes and sometime later managed to finally go to sleep. That is until a few hours later when I was violently shaken by someone in the dark.

"Leave me alone Gemma. I thought you were getting laid." I whined and turned over in my bed.

"My sister is getting what?" Harry questioned and I immediately get up.

"Harry? Why are you here?" I ask.

"Scoot over please I want to lay down."

"No you sicko I'm in my pajamas."

"Fine." Harry says as he climbs over the comforters, laying down next to me. "I missed you at the party tonight."

"Stop your lying you probably had a fun time tonight." I smile as I turned over to face him.

"You know my routine Char, I don't enjoy them that much anymore."

"I know, I know." We laid in silence for a few more moments. It was nice. That was until Harry broke the silence.

"You want food?" Harry looked at me and smirked. I looked at the clock and saw it was way past midnight, but thanks to Harry I was already awake and food did sound good right about now. We both got up and Harry waited for me as I got ready. "Don't try to dress up. Where we are going I doubt we'd  see many people."

"Don't tell me what to do mister." I put on my parka, a pair of jeans and a scarf before leaving with Harry. We walked over to his car where he graciously opened the door for me before climbing into the drivers seat himself.

"Ok boss where to?" I ask and he grinned. "McDonald's?"

"Yes McDonald's. Do you have a problem with that?" He said as we stood outside McDonald's.

"Well it is way past midnight and we don't have many other options."

"Good. McDonald's it is." Harry said as he took my hand. He didn't grab my wrist nor my hand. He took my hand and intertwined our fingers as if they become one. I was at a lost for words, but luckily enough Harry did most of the talking. We stood at the front and Harry began to order. "Can we get an order of four large french fries?"

"Four? Oh wow someone loves fries." I say and Harry winks at me.

"Shut up." He laughs. "Coke?"

"Yes please."

"And two large Cokes." Harry says completing the order. After a few minutes the cashier brings our food over to the counter and we take it to a table by the window to see the snow fall outside.  Harry places a few napkins on the table and dumped the fries over it so the fries didn't not touch the surface. Before us stood a great mountain of fries with a river of ketchup.

"A mountain of fries?" I ask.

"Yes a mountain of fries. I used to have it as a child. As fattening as it sounds it's actually amazing. My mum used to do it when my sister and I were hungry, but not too hungry, so that she'd save a quick buck and not have to worry about different orders for different people."

"Because everyone loves fries." I add.

"Exactly! Because everyone loves fries. Not only that but imagine the look on a child's face when they see a mountain of fries. Their imagination runs wild and they remember that forever. It's the little things that make the most impact." He says with a grin probably remembering himself years back in a similar position with his family.

"I like it. Your mum sounds like a smart woman." I say and he groans.

"She's clingy, loud, annoying, nosy, and smart. So I'll give her that." We both laugh. "You'd probably get along well with her. You two are too similar for my own good."

"Oh really? She sounds like an amazing woman if she's so similar to me. I'd love to meet her one day then." I tell him before popping a fry into my mouth.

"One day," He winks and that was only the beginning of another great late night with the Harry.
