before long,
when the sky turns dark
and the stars make their mark
i'll be gone.
whispers too loud to bear
one more and i'd tear
i'll leave with the evening air
before long.
no longer needed,
with many words i've been deceived
but breathe in relief
for i will be gone.
i won't be missed
and i know this
from you i will be dismissed
before long.
and if you ever need me
when you go to sleep
don't call, replay a memory
because i won't take long
to be gone.
