                                                                       Chapter 1

                                                                 In the beginning

Fries. If someone asked me what was the first food I ate when I came to America, my answer would be fries. Funny right? You were probably expecting a different opening then that. Nahhhhh. But before I get ahead of myself, let's start in Africa. I was born in Liberia, Africa. In which parts of Liberia? That is unknown to me. I have one older brother who's name I do not know nor his age. I have a twin sister but I don't know who's older. I do not know my father and my mother, my father moved to another country when me and my twin were born. My mother was raped and murdered while I was at the age of two meanwhile my sister was kidnapped the night my mother died. I do not have blood grandparents nor do I have blood uncles and aunties. So. I was a child without a family.

                                                                   Chapter 2

                                                            Road to America

You are probably wondering howcome I wasn't kidnapped along with my sister right? Well the thing was everybody knew ahead of time that there was a war coming between the government and the rebels. The rebels where trying to prove to the higher power that they didn't need them and they would do anything to show it. So the rebels went on a killing streak, starting from Abidjan to Cote d'ivoire and Ivory Coast. My mom wanted to send me down to my grandmother but she couldn't because she wasn't going to risk getting on a bus that were pretty much getting raided every single time they were traveling. So we stayed where we were. The rebels made their way up to where my mother was staying killing everyone in the villiage and taking people as slaves. My mom hid me but while she was trying to hide my sister the rebels had broke in and did their doing. People in the town who survived searched and look for anyone that was alive to help them out. They had found me and kept me their for a couple of years, they then sent me down to my grandmother who had me for some months but then she had to send me down to her daughter Felicia. My grandma had been given the chance to go to America, and she decided not to take me along. She took her husaband and her two other daughters Naomi and Patricia. So I stayed with Felicia and became used to her and even started calling her mother. Felicia had six kids and her husaband but I became besties with her youngest son Renne. That didn't last long, I witnnesed him get get shot and hanged. After that incident Felicia's husband told her that she had to leave and escape. The government had told Felicia she could go to America but she could only bring one person with her. She had to find her way there so she walked  3,000 miles to the refugee camp. We spent a year at the camp before we got our ticket to America. So. American dream here we come.

                                                                 Chapter 3

                                                             Name changing and different birthdays

Prince. What a name for a little black boy. Who would have ever thought I would be so lucky to have a name like that? I wouldn't  have been so lucky if wasn't for the government. Before Me and Felicia could come into America the African government had to give us an identification. No one knew when I was born or how old I was, nor did they know my real name. Felicia didn't know my real name either so she gave me the name Amen. The government disagreed, they said it needed to be American, but Felicia didn't know any so they gave me the Name Prince and her Felicia. But the thing is, that wasn't the struggle for us. The struggle was finding out my birth date. The government searched but couldn't find out when I was born, so  they gave me the birth date January 1'st 1999. Felicia's was January 1'st 19-something. So. I am fake.

                                                               Chapter 4

New Bro and Start of Abuse

Snow. The weirdest thing a kid from Africa can see. I was used to hotness and dryness, I will admit when I came into America I thought it was the end of the world I wasn't used to such a white sight. I wasn't used to white people either, I was curious about them. When we got off the plane in Denver , Colorado we happened to be lucky with a white woman that would take us to our apartment and show us around. I loved that woman so much but thanks to her I had my first bad impression of a white person. The white woman had taught me to read and write she was also the person that had taken me to Mcdonalds to have fries. Felicia never learned to write nor read so she depended on those around her. The white woman taught Felicia how to drive and how to get job applications to work. Every friday the white woman would come get me and we would go to her house. I used to love that until going to her house turned awful. When we would go to her house she would tie me to her bed and whip me, calling me "Nigger" and "Monkey". I never fully understood her reasonings for that. I told Felicia but she turned her ear to my complaining thnking that I was getting those from movies I have been watching. The white woman got fired for some reason and so no longer helped us. We then got and African man that would help us. Felicia caught feelings for him and had a kid. That was the year Elijah was born. When Elijah was born my world turned upside down. Felicia became cruel not feeding me for days or not letting me go to school. She would leave me tied up in the closet after beating me with a bat or cutting me with knives. I did everything in my little power to make sure Elijah wouldn't get treated like that. She would leave with her boyfriend for weeks while I was left behind taking care of Elijah. For such a little child I had alot of responsibilities. So. I was a grown up midget.
