AU: Klaus is in New Orleans with Hayley, the future hybrid-mother and Elijah, his brother. Everything seems to be like always, when suddenly an unexpected guest arrives...

It's 3 am. I just woke up, because I heard someone knocking the door. One of the downsides of being a hybrid: hearing every single noise. I slowly stand up and use my vampire speed to get to the door. Otherwise I would be too loud and I have no intention in waking my precious brother or the woman carrying my child.

I open the door slowly. It makes a squeaky noise, reasonable for a house my age.

It's dark outside but I can clearly see the person standing right in front of me. I could recognize those blue eyes anywhere.

"Caroline". My first thought and the first thing I can manage to say.

She looks at me. Caroline Forbes. The most beautiful vampire on planet earth. Ocean-Blue eyes and wavy blonde hair which glimmers golden under the moonlight.

I'm smiling. Not because she's here but because she's here for me. My offer. I knew she'd eventually take it and show up.

For a moment I can not move, I'm just too overwhelmed by her being here-with me.

"May I?" she asks with her confident voice, almost commanding me. Like she always does. I step aside and with a welcoming hand gesture I invite her in. She enters without hesitation and doesn't even look at me. She stops with her back turned towards me and takes off her coat. What happened? Why would she come to me? I doubt her love towards me so I have to ask her.

"To what do I owe the pleasure?" I smirk, expecting some sassy reaction of her. She turns around, with a surprisingly generous expression covering her face. She is not looking me in the eyes. It's like she tries to avoid it.

"You probably won't believe this but I came for you."

So it's true. I wasn't delusional at all. I came for you. For me. I am Klaus Mikealson, the original hybrid, the ultimate murderer. It seems so unrealistic. For a second I want to ask her if she's sure but I stay quiet.

She looks at me, expecting some kind of answer. Thousand years of experience with people can't help me find a proper answer to her statement.

"I heard about your child"

Oh right. Why else would she come.

"Well if you came to visit her, it's a bit early. Even a hybrid baby needs time to grow."

"So it's a girl?"

"Yeah." I grin .

"You seem happy about it. About becoming father."

She's right, I am. This child is the chance for me to make everything right what my father once did wrong. I can prove to everyone that a hybrid doesn't need to be pure evil as long as it experiences more than just hate.

"As a matter of fact, I am."

" Well that-"

Is weird?

"-does not surprise me at all." her soft voice echoes in my ear.

"So you think I'll make a good father?"

She turns around and starts walking further.

"We'll see about that"

"How about a drink? You must be exhausted."

I walk towards her and by holding her slightly on the back, I lead her to the living room.

She sits down while I head to the kitchen to prepare our drinks.
