Cherry Cough Syrup

Knocked out..

I recoil at the aftertaste at the cough syrup, I must've taken at least three times as much as the advised dosage. A few minutes passed and I knocked out.

My alarm buzzes as a numbly turn it off. I stretch and get up. I throw on a green tee, a black hoodie, grey pants and some green sneakers. I'm ready.

As I walk through my school some faces of friends stand out, as per usual. But in my homeroom, there's somebody new. I come to the girl's desk, it's beside mine. I then greet her, as I'm not shy.

"I haven't seen you before, are you new?"

"Yeah, I'm Elleigh." She replied.

I smile. "I'm Nixon." I scratched my temple, setting my stuff down.

Homeroom and first period fly by, I talked to Elleigh and showed her around. We had a free hall pass.

Lunch comes around, and I introduce Elleigh to my friends.

"Guys, this is Elleigh. Finch, you saw her in 4th period, right?"

"Yeah." said Finch.

"Hey, It's Jax here." He said, pointing at himself, grinning.

"Salutations, I'm Aloise!" Aloise said as she saluted.

Lemme explain how each of us look. I have messy hair and amber eyes. Elleigh has pinkish-brown straight hair with bangs parted to the right, and pink eyes. Finch has a black bob, where tails come off the front, and it gets shorter in the back. She has dark eyes. Jax has blonde, slicked back hair and brown eyes. Aloise has short, curly, boyish hair and green eyes.

Lunch ends, and we scatter off to electives, the end of the day. Somehow me and Elleigh have almost the same schedule, except I don't have as many ELA credits as she does, so she's in ELA 3 instead of two. We're sophomores, by the way.

Finch is a Junior, so she usually drives us all home.

"Elleigh, do you need need a ride?" Finch asks, and Elliegh replies with a nod. "I live near the boba shop."

We ride on home, Elleigh gets dropped off, then Jax, then I. Aloise and Finch live in the same neighborhood, so they ride to school together too.

I get home and finish my homework. I open my laptop, but stop midway as my phone buzzes. It's Elleigh. She needed help with the math homework and I sent a link to the teacher's video.

I chug the nyquill once again, and pass out.
